TVS set to launch EV scooter in India today: Check price, range and specification

The Indian two-wheeler manufacturer TVS is finally updating its Electric Vehicles (EV) lineup by launching the much-awaited EV scooter iQube in India today. The company introduced the EV scooter in 2020, since then, the company has not made any major updates to the vehicle.

Once the iQube electric scooter comes into the Indian market, it will directly compete against the Bajaj Chetak and many top electric two-wheelers in the country. Amid the growing competition in the EV segment, TVS said that the firm has made major changes in the iQube scooter, under which it will provide a smooth ride to the customers and long-range on a single charge.

From specs to price, here is all you need to know about TVS iQube

The company has already dropped the teaser of TVS iQube 2022 on its official youtube channel, which has revealed that the EV scooter will share the same design as its existing model, but customers surely will notice some minor cosmetic changes from the exterior. The firm will launch the cooter in a new red colour alongside the existing white color.

If rumors to be believed, the new iQube is likely to come with the latest features including an updated SmartXconnect system for improved functionality. Apart from this, the vehicle will have social media notifications alerts, food delivery notifications, voice assist, and navigation, among others.

As of now, the existing model of TVS iQube comes with a 2.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a 4.4 kW (6 bhp) electric motor, which allows users to have a top speed of 78 km/h. The vehicle also offers a range between 75 to 80 km on a single charge.

As far as the price is of the EV scooter is concerned, the current model comes at Rs 1,00,777, there are chances that the updated version likely to become more expensive by Rs 10,000 to 15,000.

Based on Baleno’s platform, Maruti Suzuki might introduce its upcoming compact SUV Baleno Cross at the 2023 Auto Expo. If rumors are to be believed, the firm expected to launch the car officially somewhere around in the month of February or March under the Nexa dealerships.

MARUTI JIMNY 5-DOOR

The Indo-Japanese automaker has already started testing the 5-door Jimny in the country. The vehicle has been spotted several times in many districts and cities during testing. The off-road SUV is likely to make its global debut at the upcoming Auto Expo.

Ahead of its offical released, some of the key features has been leaked on the internet, which suggested that the car likely to feature1.5L K15C dualjet engine with the 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox options.

HYUNDAI CRETA FACELIFT

The South Korean automaker Hyundai currently ruling the Indian auto market with its powerful and hot-selling product Creta. Now the firm is all set to mark another milestone with the updated version of Creta.

Reports said that with big changes, the company is likely to unveil the mid-size SUV at the auto expo in 2023.

Taking about the big changes, the vehicle might equip with advanced ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) technology, a new infotainment system, updated digital instrument console and whatnot.

From specs to features, know everything about 5-door Jimny

As the vehicle is already available in 3-doors in India, the company decided to introduce Jimny in 5-doors and give Indian customers another reason to purchase the vehicle. The updated version of Jimny will likely come with a new set of features, better build quality and advanced infotainment system. The car will remain in a position where it will provide a better driving experience to urban customers.

Own a Kia Carens? Your car may come under voluntary recall over airbag fault

The leading car manufacturer in India Kia, which has won thousands of hearts with the feature-loaded MPV Carens, now facing faults in the Airbag Control module/unit (ACU). To solve the fault, the firm has launched a campaign under which it has recalled thousands of units to fix the issue.

The company also confirmed that soon it will start reaching out to the customers in order to inform them about the campaign.

The company also released an official statement under which it informed that Kia India has initiated a compaing, where it has recalled 44,174 units of Carens. It said that during this time, all the Carens owners do not have to stress over anything. The company itself will reach out to the respective owner, it will inpsect the Airbag Control Module (ACU) mudule from left, right, and center and if required, a software update will be provided to the customers free of cost.

The company also informed customers that the owners of the affected vehicles will be required to make an appointment with the nearest authorized dealers in order to resolve the fault.

Reacting to the campaign, car makers said that this voluntary recall campaign is being undertaken by Kia India, to inspect any potential error in Airbag Control Module (ACU) software in the Kia Carens. The company will take utmost care to minimise inconvenience to customers throughout the process of this campaign.

However, Kia is not the only firm that has launched a recall campaign over the airbags issues. Earlier, Maruti Suzuki also launched a similar campaign under which the firm recalled 166 units of Dzire Tour S due to a fault in the ACU software. Then they promised to repair it free of cost.

What is Airbag Control Module (ACU) software

ACU is considered one of the important components when it comes to airbag systems. With the help of inputs sent by the software during any accident or a major crash, it cmmands the car to deploy the airbags on time.
