Ola e-scooter vs rivals: Who’s good and who’s better



A sudden spike in fuel price has forced many two-wheeler buyers to switch from fuel to e-scooters as an alternate. Seeing the increasing demand for two-wheeler e-vehicle, Ola has recently launched its e-electric scooter at the price between Rs 99,999 to 1,29,999 (ex-showroom) in Indian, which seems to give a decent competition to the current Simple Energy’s e-electric scooters and Ather 450.

The Ola claims that its S1 Pro variant will provide the range of 181km, while its base variant offers the range of 121km. The Simple One’s e-scooter claims to provide highest range of 236km on single charge, which is higher than Ola’s e-scooter and double range offering by Ather 450X.

All the three e-scooters come with a large touch screen infotainment system, that shows the speed notification, battery alert warning and other important details about the vehicle on the screen.

The Ola’s has some advanced features like cruise control mode (only in the top variant), which makes it stand out from the rest of them. The Ola S1 also gets a bigger boot with 36-liters of storage space, while the Simple one gets a 30-litre boot space.

The Ola scooter comes with keyless ignition as well as a find my scooter feature, which give the more security to the vehicle.


The Ather 450X  is one of the most expensive e-scooter on the that starts at the price of Rs 1.44 lakh (ex-showroom),  while its other variant Ather 450 Plus comes at the price of Rs. 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom), which is still expensive than Ola’s e-scooter and Simple One’s scooter.

Hero MotoCorp motorcycles to get expensive from December 1, check details



The leading two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp which has been seeing a rise in sales for the past few years announced that the company will again be going to increase the prices of vehicles. The firm also revealed that the decision will come into power from the start of December.

This is the fourth time the firm has spiked the price of its vehicles. The reports have suggested that this time company is likely to increase prices somewhere around between Rs 1,500 to 3,000.

Reacting to the recent price hike on bikes and scooters, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Hero Mr Niranjan Gupta said that the general inflationary costs have forced the company to increase the for their vehicles. He said to main healthy relations with its customers, the firm is offering creative financing options. In addition to that, he said that implementing accelerated savings programs will enable the company to counteract any future cost impacts and increase margins. Going forward, the economic indicators point to an increase in demand, and we anticipate that industry volumes will increase in the upcoming quarters, Gupta added.

Meanwhile, in order to attract new customers, the company has been trying to enter the EV segment as well. Amid this, Hero MotoCorp Vida opened its first experience in Bengaluru. To gain customers’ trust, the brand also started providing test rides for its V1 electric scooter.

Vida V1 EV is said to compete against the feature-loaded and hot-selling products Ola S1 Pro and Ather 450X and Ola S1 Pro. Talking about its specs, the new electric scooter has been launched with a 3.94 kWh battery, under which it claims to provide a range of 163 km (IDC) on a single charge.

It also has been claimed that the newly launched scooter can reach from 0-40 kmph in 3.2 seconds. As far as the price is concerned, customers can purchase it at the starting price of ₹1.45 lakh (ex-showroom).

In terms of mechanical aspects, the same 26 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack, generating the power of 76 bhp and 170 Nm of peak torque will remain the same. However, there are expectations that the upcoming Tigor EV version is likely to provide a driving range of 306 km on a single charge.

Amid this, the leading car manufacturer in India Tata also has been working on the CNG version of Altroz. If rumors are to be believed, the customers are likely to see the launch of the same around next year. Apart from this, facelifted versions of the Harrier and Safari midsize SUVs are also lineup to be unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo in January.
