Toronto-based Kaali director Leena Manimekalai has been in trouble ever since she dropped the poster for her new documentary film. The poster shows a woman dressed as the Hindu Goddess Kaali and smoking a cigarette while holding a trident in one hand and an LGBTQ flag in the other. Her poster has drawn flak on social media for hurting the religious sentiments of a particular community.

Amid the Kaali controversy, Leena’s old tweets on PM Modi and Lord Ram are doing the rounds on the Internet. In 2013, a filmmaker tweeted that she will surrender her passport, ration card, pan card, and her citizenship if ever Modi becomes this country’s PM in her lifetime.

Also in 2020, Leena commented on Lord Ram, where she wrote that Ram is not God. He is just a BJP-invented electronic voting machine. Her tweets spark outrage in the country and have evoked widespread condemnation on Twitter.

Leena shared the poster of her documentary film Kaali on social media platform on Saturday and wrote the film was part of the Rhythms of Canada segment at the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto. Soon after, people started condemning her act. She, however, urged people to watch the film to understand the context behind the poster.

Clarifying the motto behind this poster, she wrote that the film is about the events that occurred during Kaali’s stroll through the streets of Toronto one fine evening. If they watch the movie, they will put the hashtag “Love you, Leena Manimekalai” rather than “Arrest Leena Manimekalai,” she added.

The film hasn’t been released in India yet.

Bigg Boss 16: Sumbul Touqeer Khan to get evicted from Salman Khan show a week before Finale

Sumbul Touqeer Khan has been eliminated from the Bigg Boss 16 show a week before the Grand Finale. Despite being the popular face of the Indian television industry, the Imlie actor could not reach the top spot. Fans are wondering if Sumbul herself was the reason behind her eviction.

The contestants were divided into two teams in the nomination task, Mandali consisting of Shiv Thakare, MC Stan and Sumbul Touqeer Khan vs Archana Gautam, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary and Shalin Bhanot. Each of them was supposed to count 9 minutes, however, Sumbul Touqeer took the highest time of 17 plus minutes which led to Mandali being nominated.

Though the Mandali got nominated because of Sumbul, the other nominated contestants Shiv and Stan, did not blame her. However, during the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, hosted by Karan Johar, the filmmaker called out Shiv for not questioning Sumbul about his nomination. Later, he asks Shiv to walk out of the show as he got the lowest number of votes.

Well, contrary to the promo, The Khabri has tweeted out saying that Sumbul Touqeer Khan will be eliminated from Bigg Boss 16 during the Weekend Ka Vaar.

The contestants who have reached the finale week are Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, Archana Gautam, Shalin Bhanot, MC Stan, Shiv Thakare, and Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia. There are also reports that Shalin Bhanot will also get evicted from the show later in the week.
