On the complaint of Zameer Ahamad, president of the organisation Anjuman-e-Islamia, a case has been registered against Murthy and others for hurting religious sentiments. In his complaint, the Anjuman-e-Islamia president alleged that Keshav Murthy said that people who read and follow the Quran are terrorists.

Murthy had made such a derogatory statement on July 1 when some Hindu activists were protesting the killing of tailor Kanhaiya Lal, who was brutally murdered by two Muslim men in Udaipur for posting in support of suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma, who had made against Prophet Mohammed and Islam.

After the murder, the accused Riyaz Attari and Ghous Mohammad posted a video on social media and took responsibility for the tailor’s daylight murder. They had also threatened to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the video. Soon after the incident, they were arrested by the Rajasthan Police.

The Police have registered a case against Keshav Murthy Sections 153A (promoting enmity between groups), 153B (provocation with intent to cause a riot) and 295A (outraging religious feelings) of the Indian Penal Code.

Delhi Mayor election postponed for third time, AAP to approach Supreme Court

The election of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has been postponed once again. In such a situation, the election of mayor, deputy mayor and permanent members will now be held on the next date. It was told that the proceedings were adjourned due to uproar in the House.

Under the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act 1957, the election of the mayor and deputy mayor should be done in the first meeting of the municipal body. Although two months have passed since the municipal elections, but till now the city has not got a new mayor.

Earlier, the meeting of the MCD House was called twice on January 6 and January 24, but due to uproar by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) corporators, the presiding officer adjourned the proceedings without holding the election of the mayor. Gave.

AAP has fielded Shaili Oberoi and BJP has fielded Rekha Gupta as its candidate for the post of mayor. AAP and BJP had fielded Aale Mohammad Iqbal and Kamal Bagdi respectively for the post of Deputy Mayor. Along with these, six members of the Standing Committee of MCD are also likely to be elected today.

Tussle between BJP and AAP even before the meeting

On the other hand, Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has instructed its councilors to create ruckus like last time to disrupt the mayor’s election.

Sisodia tweeted that BJP has instructed its councilors not to allow the mayor’s election to be held again in the MCD meeting on Monday. The BJP councilors have been told to create ruckus on some pretext as soon as the house starts. The presiding officer will again adjourn the House indefinitely like last time. The Lieutenant Governor will again give the date after 20 days.

Countering this, BJP’s Delhi unit’s working president Virendra Sachdeva said that if the House is adjourned on Monday, Kejriwal will be responsible for it.

The BJP leader said that AAP is not confident of its majority and has instructed its councilors to adjourn the House by creating ruckus on any issue. If the House is adjourned even today, Arvind Kejriwal will be responsible for it.

AAP emerged as the single largest party with 134 councilors in the MCD elections, while the BJP won 104 seats. The Congress had won nine seats.

Today in the Parliament, the opposition is likely be loud regarding the Adani-Hindenburg case. The opposition created ruckus in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on last Friday raising the matter, after which the proceedings were adjourned till 11 am today.

As many as 12 Opposition parties including Congress, DMK, NCP, BRS, JD(U), SP, CPM, CPI Kerala Cong(Jose Mani), JMM, RLD, RSP, AAP, IUML, RJD & Shiv Sena held a meeting in LoP Mallikarjun Kharge’s Chamber in Parliament Building to work out a strategy on Adani-Hindenburg & other issues.

The MPs of these parties have gathered in protest in front of the Gandhi statue on Parliament premises and have demanded a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) or Supreme Court-monitored investigation in the Adani Group issue.

Notably, the Congress party is also going to protest across the country on Monday regarding the Adani case. All the Congress leaders will raise slogans against the Centre in front of LIC and SBI offices in all the districts.

Earlier, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has called a meeting of leaders of all opposition parties at 9:30 am today. Along with the Adani case, the opposition can also attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Centre regarding the BBC documentary.

Opposition lashes out at Modi government

TMC MP Derek O’Brien said that there is a good chance to corner the government in Parliament. On the other hand, the one who creates ruckus, his collusion with BJP can be seen. The Congress has made a direct attack on PM Modi regarding the Adani Group controversy.

Delhi Mayor election: MCD Mayor to get elected today after two failed attempts

Election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor will be held in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Monday. However, this election has been postponed twice earlier due to uproar in the house. All the members of MCD have already been sworn in. Voting will be held for the election of mayor at around 11 am. Earlier, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had written a letter to the Protem Speaker. However, it was withdrawn on the grounds that elections are going to be held on February 6.

House meeting will be held on the fourth floor
