Screen Actors Guild Awards, also known as SAG Awards, are accolades given by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA). The SAG awards are given for achievements in film and prime-time television performances.
The 29th annual SAG awards were held at the Fairmount Century Plaza in Century City, California, on February 26. For the first time, the SAG Awards were streamed live on Netflix’s YouTube channel.
Everything Everywhere All at Once dominated at the 2023 SAG Awards. An American absurdist comedy-drama film broke the SAG Awards record for most wins by a single film, including outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture.
Vietnamese-American actor Ke Huy Quan won the SAG award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role. He became the first Asian male film winner at the annual guild ceremony since its inception in 1994. He’s also only the second Asian actor to win any individual SAG prize in either film or television, one year after Squid Game’s Lee Jung-Jae won for male actor in a drama series.
