According to reports, Krishna Kumar Jha said he recently found out that he had been issued a challan for a traffic violation in Bihar’s Samastipur in 2020 and bizarrely enough, while checking the details, it was revealed that the Rs 1,000 fine was for not wearing a seatbelt on his Scooty in October 2020. Moreover, he found out that someone had already paid the fine.
Speaking to news agency PTI, Jha, who owns a Scooty (a scooterette), said that on April 27, while travelling in a train to Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi, he recieved text message on his phone, saying that a traffic challan of Rs 1,000 had been issued against him and upon checking the details, it mentioned that the fine was for not wearing a seatbelt.
On top of receiving the bizarre challan, it was also mentioned that someone had already deposited the fine.

Meanwhile, Bihar Traffic Police, while acknowledging the blooper, said that the challan which Jha had recieved was issued manually and they are currently convertingt all manual challans into e-challans.
A Bihar traffic police official said the Jha received the challan due to some error in the conversion process and its being checked where the error ocurred.
In a similar incident, in February this year, a man in Odisha was issued a challan of Rs 1,000 for not wearing seatbelt while riding his scooter.
As per reports, Abhisekh Kar, a resident of Rajgangpur, was fined Rs 1,000 for not wearing a seatbelt on his two-wheeler.
Speaking to Odisha TV, Kar said he found out later that the photo on the e-challan wasn’t his but of another person and later approached the local transport officials and the officials at Odisha’s Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to bring the error to their notice.

Two people died while three people lost their eyesight in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur after consuming spurious liquor, as per the police.

Police have received information that two people died after their health suddenly deteriorated. In the prima facie inquiry, it has been told that they both had consumed country-made liquor. We have arrested two people. Further probe underway, the Superintendent of Police Abhishek Dixit said after two people died after allegedly consuming spurious liquor in Muzaffarpur.
According to reports, one of the victims, Dharmendra Ram, has revealed that he consumed spurious alcohol after purchasing from Shiv Chandra Paswan, who generally sells adulterated and low-quality liquor, due to which he lost his eyesight.
He started losing his vision after consuming two glasses of low-quality liquor, which cost him Rs 100.
Police, based on the victim’s statement, have arrested two people. One of the arrested persons is a local resident and has been jailed in the past as well in a liquor-related case.
For interrogation, police have also detained accused Shiv Chandra Paswan’s wife and daughter.
Police confirmed that the deaths and loss of eyesight happened due to the consumption of spurious alcohol.
Earlier this year in April, a shocking case was reported from Bihar’e Motihari district where at least 5 people died after consuming illicitly made liquor while twelve others were rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.
The incident was reported from Laxmipur Village of Motihari district in Bihar. The cases of spurious liquor creating hazardous health problems and death of people in Bihar have been in focus for quite some months now. Earlier in January this year it was reported from Siwan that four people died post consuming the spurious liquor after which the Police arrested 16 people who were involved in the storage and trading of alcohol in the state.
Purchase, sale and trade of liquor stands banned in Bihar since April 2016 after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar took this move to impose a complete prohibition on the sale and consumption of alcohol in the state.

10 school children go missing as boat capsizes in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur, CM Nitish Kumar assures assistance

In Bihar’s Muzaffarpur, a boat carrying 30 children to school capsized in the Bagmati River on Thursday. As per the reports, 20 out of 30 children have been rescued while 10 kids are missing.

As per the reports, the incident occurred as CM Nitish Kumar went to Muzaffarpur to review the on going projects. The unfortunate incident happened near Madhupur Patti ghat along the Bagmati River.
Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed his concern and assured all the assistance to the families of the victims. The chief minister has asked the district magistrate to look into the incident that took place in the Bagmati River, where children were on their way to school on a boat capsized.
In another incident, that took place last year in Madhya Pradesh’s Katni district, five children drowned in the river. As per the reports, the children went for a picnic to celebrate a friend’s birthday at the ghat in Katni. Siddharth Rai, SI of NKJ PS, said five children left their homes for a picnic at the ghat. The parents got worried when the children didn’t return, even after dark and their clothes were found on the banks of the river.
The villagers informed the police that the children had gone for a picnic to celebrate their friend’s birthday.
After receiving the information about the incident, the police reached the spot and started the rescue operation along with the diving team of Katni SDRF.
The diving team boarded the boat and recovered their bodies. The officials said they found the cooking utensils, clothes, and slippers lying on the side of the pier.
The deceased are identified as Mehpal Singh (15), Sahil Chakravarti (15), Surya Vishwakarma (15), Aayush Vishkarma (13), Anuj Soni (13). The officials said the children died due to drowning in deep water.

Bihar: 50 school students hospitalised after eating mid day meal, chameleon found in food
As per Sudha Jha from the Sadar Hospital, the children complained that the chameleon was found in the mid day meal that they consumed.
In a shocking incident, 50 school students in Bihar complained of stomach ache and vomiting after consuming the mid-day meal at a primary school in Bihar’s Sitamarhi district on Tuesday. The students of the primary school in Dumra block of Sitamarhi district were taken to Sadar Hospital.
The doctors asserted that the condition of the children were stable and they were being kept under observation. As per Sudha Jha from the Sadar Hospital, the children complained that the chameleon was found in the mid day meal that they consumed. She added that the parents are here with the children and that there is nothing to worry about.
Earlier in August 70 students were hospitalised after having mid-day meals in a government school in southwest Delhi’s Dabri area. The Delhi government had then issued a show cause notice to the mid day meal provider. Reportedly, the Delhi police received a PCR call at Sagarpur police station mentioning that around 70 boys of Class VI to VII reported vomiting after having a mid-day meal in Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya School, Durgapark.
In addition, in June this year, 21 students from a government school in Maharashtra’s Nanded were hurried to hospital after a dead lizard was found in the mid-day meal served to them. Following the consumption of the mid-day meal, 21 students were hurried to the hospital after their health deteriorated.
A day ago, students from a Bihar government school took to the road to protest against the lack of facilities in their educational institute.The girl students of the government school vandalised a vehicle of an officer from the Education Department. According to reports, the furore by the students is against the lack of facilities in the school such as furniture and other basic amenities.
