CNG price surges in Delhi-NCR, check new prices here

As the speculation of the surge in petrol price is brewing, in the middle of that, the price of CNG in Delhi-NCR has been hiked by up to Rs 1.
The latest price of CNG has been effective from March 8, 6 am. Earlier, the CNG rate in Delhi was Rs 57.01 per kilogram, now it has been increased to Rs 57.51 per kg from Tuesday morning.
The CNG prices in other parts of NCR are different and are a bit higher than in Delhi. In Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, and Noida, CNG is Rs 1 per kg more expensive. Now, CNG will cost Rs 59.58 per kg in the NCR region.
Meanwhile, the price of CNG in Madhya Pradesh’s Nagpur has skyrocketed and is currently far more than both petrol and diesel.
On March 7, the price of CNG is currently at Rs 120 per kg. Whereas the price of petrol is Rs 109.75 per litre and the price of diesel is Rs 92.51 per litre.
It is also likely that in the coming week, the price of petrol and diesel is also going to increase. The reports suggest that the price of petrol and diesel is likely to rise by Rs 15 per litre. This price increase will be implemented in stages.

Delhi Police beef up security ahead of Republic Day, additional pickets in place, more patrolling

Additional pickets have been deployed, anti-terror measures intensified and patrolling enhanced in the national capital ahead of the Republic Day celebrations.
An official statement, Friday, said that all Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACPs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) have been holding meetings with members of the Residents Welfare Association and Market Welfare Associations and briefing them about security measures in place for Republic Day.
Delhi Police has been actively urging people on social media to alert security authorities about any suspicious person, activity or article, the statement said.
The police said that surprise checks are being conducted at hotels, guest houses and ‘dharamshalas’ to ensure no suspicious or anti-social elements have illegally occupied the space, adding that tenant and servant verifications are also being done.
Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Dependra Pathak, while hailing the “robust” security checks and terror measures, assured that the police will not allow any terror plot to succeed on their watch.
He said that several measures aimed at creating awareness among the public, such as organizing public meeting and alerting market and resident welfare associations are being run to ensure mischievous elements with nefarious designs are unable to creep in.
Officials said that anti-terror measures have been intensified in coordination with other security agencies since Delhi has always been a target for terrorists or anti-social elements.
They said the officers are on high alert and extra pickets have been deployed on bordering areas to ensure no mischievous elements gain entry into the national capital.

An alleged video of Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal’s late night sexual harassment by an intoxicated driver on the city streets has surfaced online.
The alleged video, which has gone viral on social media, shows Maliwal’s run-in with her purported attacker.
“Sorry. I can’t hear you. Where will you drop me? I have to go home to meet my relatives,” Maliwal is heard saying to the accused Harish Chandra, who was driving a white Maruti Suzuki Baleno car.
Maliwal then steps away and it seems like the man drove-off but apparently makes a U-turn and once again presses Maliwal to get in.
“I just told you that I won’t get in with you. Why are you asking again? Where will you drop me? I told you my relatives are coming,” 38-year-old Maliwal tells her attacker. As she seems to lean in to reprimand him, the attacker seemingly pulls up the window glass, Maliwal’s hand gets stuck but the accused drives off, dragging her along.
The authenticity of the video could not be verified.
Maliwal, had on Thursday, claimed that she was dragged by a car for 10-15 metres in the national capital during the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday.
The incident, according to the DCW chief, took place at around 3:11 am opposite to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Gate-2 on Thursday. Police reports say that Maliwal’s hand had got stuck in the car’s window.

Police said that the accused was arrested within 22 minutes of the crime being reported.
“Acting on a distress call by Ms. Swati Maliwal, South Distt. Police swung into action, apprehended the alleged Baleno car within 22 Minutes. FIR under relevant section has been registered & accused arrested. Further investigation is on,” a tweet by Delhi police read on Thursday.
Meanwhile, some social media users have accused Maliwal of baiting the alleged harasser by intentionally walking up to his car in the middle of the night.

Teacher stabbed by student during exam in Delhi government school
A government school teacher was repeatedly stabbed by a student at a Delhi government school on Thursday, police said.

A government school teacher was repeatedly stabbed by a student at a Delhi government school on Thursday, police said.
The incident, according to the police, took place in Inderpuri area of the national capital.
The teacher, identified as Bhudev, had visited the school to invigilate a practical exam, and got into a verbal spat with the accused student, who attacked him multiple times with a knife.
The incident happened at around 12:45 pm today.
The victim is currently being treated at the BLK Kapoor Hospital where his condition is said to be stable.
The Class 12 student has been taken into custody, while two more students are suspected to have been involved in the incident, police said, adding that a case has been registered in this regard.
More details are awaited.
