Death threats to Salman Khan: Police, manager say Race 3 shoot not stalled

Days back, Rajasthan gangster Lawrence Bishnoi threatened to kill Salman in Jodhpur, where he had gone for the hearing of the blackbuck poaching case.

Days after Bollywood superstar Salman Khan received death threats from Rajasthan gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, armed men reportedly landed at Salman’s next film ‘Race 3’ sets at Film City, Mumbai. However, the actor’s manager and the Mumbai police dismissed that the shooting of Salman’s upcoming movie was stalled and that the actor was not required to be escorted home after armed men were spotted at the location.

Categorically denying reports suggesting that there was an attempt by armed men to attack Salman, Vinay Rathod, deputy commissioner of police, Zone XII, said, “We have not received any complaint about it. Nothing like that has happened.”

“This is absolutely untrue and nothing of the sort has happened. No one has entered any set and the shoot is on as usual,” said Salman’s manager Jordy Patel.

Earlier, as reported by Mumbai Mirror, sources from the set of Race 3 said, “The police arrived at the Race 3 set in Film City and told Salman and producer Ramesh Taurani that the shoot had to be stopped immediately as the actor needed to head home as soon as possible. Salman was escorted in another car by six cops, while his own car was driven back to his residence by another group of cops.”

Days back, Rajasthan gangster Lawrence Bishnoi openly threatened to kill the Bollywood superstar in Jodhpur, where he had gone for the hearing of his long-pending blackbuck poaching case.

“Salman Khan will be killed here, in Jodhpur… Then he will come to know about our real identity. Now, if police want me to do some major crime, I shall kill Salman Khan and that too in Jodhpur,” said Bishnoi on January 5.

A senior police officer said, “We are taking Bishnoi’s threat seriously but we have assured Salman that he will receive maximum police protection. We are also investigating the motive behind Bishnoi’s threat to Salman.”

Expressing concern over the threats from the Rajasthan gangster, Salman’s father and veteran actor, screenwriter Salim Khan said, “While I don’t know the exact details about when he left the sets, I do know that there were some threats. But Salman has a good team of security personnel. This is not the first time that he is getting such threats. In this industry, people keep getting such threats a lot.”

“The only action we are taking is to make sure that Salman is safe. He is going to the shoots normally right now,” he added.

Hard work alone not enough, a time-bound and solid strategy necessary to strengthen Congress: Kharge at Belagavi meet

He invoked Mahatma Gandhi’s belief that “Truth survives even when it does not have public support,” reaffirming the Congress’s commitment to truth alongside the overwhelming support of the people.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday asserted the importance of not just hard work, but also a well-defined and timely strategy required to strengthen the grand old party, saying there is a need to give a chance to new power and to bring forth local and new leadership.

He outlined his vision for the upcoming year, declaring 2025 as the year for organisational empowerment, with plans to fill all vacant positions within the party and fully implement the Udaipur Declaration.

Kharge stressed that the organisation must be equipped with the skills necessary for electoral success, from the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to local booths.

He highlighted the need to include individuals who are ideologically committed and ready to defend the Constitution, as well as those who share the Congress Party’s vision of India. “These individuals must be integrated into the party’s activities and mainstream efforts.”

Addressing the party’s supporters at the meeting of the extended Congress Working Committee in Belagavi to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s presidency, Kharge noted the ongoing discussions from the previous Working Committee meeting on strengthening the organisation.

The Congress chief referred to the collective decision to actively combat the atmosphere of disappointment following electoral setbacks in Haryana and Maharashtra.

With determination and creativity, the Congress has managed to push the government back and rejuvenate the Opposition’s energy during the last parliamentary session.

Kharge acknowledged the power of ideas and the legacy of the Gandhi-Nehru lineage as vital to the party’s identity and future.

As the Congress reconvenes in Belgaum for the ‘Nav Satyagraha,’ Kharge expressed a resolve to challenge misleading narratives propagated by those in power, stating that “those who have taken an oath to uphold the Constitution have been the ones spreading falsehoods”.

He invoked Mahatma Gandhi’s belief that “Truth survives even when it does not have public support,” reaffirming the Congress’s commitment to truth alongside the overwhelming support of the people.

Kharge urged unity against the Opposition’s lies and called for a confident and bold approach to overcoming the challenges ahead, expressing optimism that the Congress will ultimately succeed in this endeavor.
