Rajasthan: Hindu shopkeeper beheaded over social media post supporting Nupur Sharma, murderers arrested
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot condemned the act and ordered stringent action against the criminals.
A Hindu shopkeeper in Rajasthan’s Udaipur was beheaded by two men over a social media post in support of suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma.
The video of the horrifying murder has been shared on social media. In another video, the two accused can be seen with the murder weapons and can be heard admitting the crime. The accused men also threatened to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The accused have been identified as Mohammed Riyaz Akhtar and Mohammed Gosh and have been arrested, reports said. The Rajasthan police are on alert and shops in the Maldas street area, where the murder took place, have been shut.
Following the incident, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot condemned the act and ordered stringent action against the criminals. He also appealed to all the political parties to maintain peace. In a Twitter thread, the CM also appealed to everyone not to spread hatred by sharing the video of the crime on social media.

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi also condemned the killing and said there can be no justification for the act. He also said his party’s stand is to oppose such violence and demanded strict action against the culprits.
Internet services in the Udaipur district have been temporarily suspended for the next 24 hours.

Reports said the victim, a Hindu, owned a tailoring shop in the Dhanmondi area near Bhootmahal in the city. Two Muslim men arrived at his shop at around 2:30 pm on a bike and pretended to give their measurements to the victim.
He was then ambushed and brutally killed with swords. The whole incident was shot by the criminals who later also recorded their confessions. The video was shared widely on social media.

Punjab: Farmer’s rail roko protest enters 3rd day, disrupts train services

Sankalp Saptaah: PM Modi today launches week-long initiative for aspirational blocks at Bharat Mandapam

At Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced a week-long project named Sankalp Saptaah for the country’s aspirational groups.

According to the statement, about 3,000 panchayat and block level functionaries and representatives of the people are expected to attend the inaugural event at Bharat Mandapam, in addition to about two lakh farmers, block and panchayat level functionaries, and people from other walks of life who will participate virtually.
Starting on October 3 and running through October 9, each day of Sankalp Saptaah is devoted to a distinct development subject on which all aspirational blocks will focus. Sampoorna Swasthya, Suposhit Pariwaar, Swachhta, Krishi, Shiksha, and Samridhi Diwas are some of the themes for the first six days, according to the statement.
