Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said that the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) tried to poach 7 MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi. They offered Rs 25 crore to change the side and join BJP.
Kejriwal alleged that the BJP held a talk with AAP MLAs and threatened them saying they will arrest Arvind Kejriwal soon in the ongoing liquor policy case.
Taking to X, Kejriwal alleged that the BJP recently contacted his seven MLAs in Delhi and said they would arrest him after a few days. The Delhi CM said that talks have been held with 21 MLAs and they are talking to others also. Afterwards, they will topple the AAP government in Delhi. You can also come. Will give Rs 25 crore and contest the elections on BJP ticket, Delhi CM alleged in a social media post.
The Chief Minister further said that only 7 MLAs have been contacted by BJP, although, they claimed that they contacted 21 MLAs.
Kejriwal also accused the BJP of trying to topple the AAP government in Delhi as they are powerless to defeat AAP in elections.
This means that I am not being arrested to investigate any liquor scam but they are conspiring to topple the AAP government in Delhi, Kejriwal said. In the last nine years, they hatched many conspiracies to topple our government, which he attacked. But they did not get any success. God and the people always supported us. All our MLAs are also strongly together. This time also these people will fail in their nefarious intentions, Kejriwal added.
On the 7 MLAs being poached by BJP, Delhi Minister Atish said that the BJP trying to create political unrest in Delhi.
BJP has started Operation Lotus 2.0, and is trying to topple the democratically elected AAP government in Delhi, she said. 7 MLAs of the AAP have been contacted by the BJP, and have been told, that Arvind Kejriwal will be arrested soon, after which AAP MLAs will be rifted apart, she alleged.
Delhi Minister further said that they are in touch with 21 of our MLAs, using whom we aim to topple the Delhi government. Those 7 MLAs have been offered Rs 25 crores each. Operation Lotus is the tactic used by the BJP to come into power in states, where they are not democratically elected. Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Arunachal Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh are examples, she charged.
Meanwhile, BJP leader Kapil Mishra reacted to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Minister Atishi’s allegations and said that Arvind Kejriwal is again lying as he has done since the last seven times. Not once has been able to tell which phone number was used to contact them, who contacted them, and where was the meeting held. BJP leader further said he just gives out statements and goes into hiding. His partners are in jail, and he is repeatedly avoiding ED summons because he knows he does not have answers to the ED questions, Mishra added.
