The final marked the culmination of India’s first ever singing reality show based on traditional songs

The much awaited finale of reality show ‘Mera Bhi Naam Hoga’ concluded on Sunday. The program was held in Lucknow in the presence of celebrities from all walks of life.

The multi-round show aimed at finding and awarding the emerging singing talents in folk and regional genre.

The program was telecasted live on APN, the hosts of the show.

Uttar Pradesh Assembly speaker Hriday Narayan Dixit graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Deputy Chief Ministers of UP Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dr Dinesh Sharma were also present in the occasion.

Allahabad’s Vaibhav Mishra was adjudged as the winner of the first season of ‘Mera Bhi Naam Hoga’ while Shubham Tiwari and Jyoti Mishra were awarded as the 1st and 2nd runner-up respectively. Vaibhav received a cash prize of Rs 1, 50,000 among other prizes while Jyoti and Shubham received a cash prize of Rs 50,000 each. In addition to that few contestants also received album contracts and scholarships.

The show was studded with performances from veteran singers – Sharda Sinha, Khesari Lal Yadav, Soma Ghosh among others.

Sharda Sinha and shows’ judge Tripti Sakya propagated the message of saving and educating girl child through their songs. Sakya presented a song on government’s ‘Beti Padhao Beti Bachao’ initiative.

Leaders were full of praise for APN and the contestants after watching the program.

Hriday Narayan Dixit said the program was the best way to select and nurture talent.

Dy CM Dr Dinesh Sharma said,” Programs like these will help preserve and develop state’s culture and tradition.”

UP cabinet minister Rita Bahuguna Joshi praised APN for producing a show which promoted social schemes like ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’and also applauded candidates for their mature performance.

Unlike most reality shows, ‘Mera Bhi Naam Hoga’ awarded all candidates with one or the other prize.

Jamia Millia Islamia student shot at inside Holy Family Hospital, shifted to AIIMS Trauma Centre

Another Jamia Millia Islamia incident has taken over the headlines. Reportedly, a student was shot at and injured by another Jamia student on Thursday inside the Holy Family Hospital in southeast Delhi’s Jamia Nagar area.

The incident took place around 8.50 pm on Thursday, when police received information regarding a quarrel at Jamia Millia Islamia University library. After rushing at the spot, the officials came to know that a fight had ensued between two groups of students.

A 26 year old student names, Noman Chaudhary had sustained a blunt injury on his head and was later taken to the Holy Family Hospital for treatment by another Jamia student, Nauman Ali, an associate of Nauman Chaudhary, The officer further told media that the student is a resident of Meerut district in Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, one student of the second group, Zalal, a resident of Mewat in Haryana, accompanied by his friends came to the hospital and fired at Nauman Ali outside the emergency ward.

Police officials told media that Nauman Ali, the person who was shot at, has a superficial injury on the scalp, hence, he has been shifted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre. The Delhi Police’s crime team is still inspecting the scene of crime and Legal action has been initiated accordingly at Jamia Nagar and New Friends Colony police stations.

Few days back during the crackdown against PFI in Delhi, the police had warned the Jamia Millia University students against holding any protests inside and outside the university campus. For the unversed, the Jamia Millia University and Shaheen Bagh were centers of anti-CAA protests in Delhi in December 2019.

In order to keep the law and order situation in check, the Delhi Police had also imposed Section 144 in Delhi’s Okhla region which includes areas of Shaheen Bagh and Jamia Nagar, where Jamia Millia Islamia University is situated from September 19 till November 11.

Delhi Police also warned the Jamia Millia Islamia students and teachers not to assemble in and around the campus as police have imposed restrictions under section 144 of the CrPC in the entire Okhla area. However, Section 144 of the CrPC prohibits the assembly of four or more people in an area. Violation of the order is punishable under section 188 of the IPC.

A video from Bihar’s Bhagalpur has gone viral where a thief, who tried to snatch the phone from a moving train’s window was caught by the passengers. The passengers grabbed onto the arms of the thief and kept the thief held to the train’s window for approximately five kilometers. The passengers didn’t just stop there as they thrashed the thief later on as well.

In the video, the thief can be seen being held onto the train’s window as he flails and nearly misses a lot of train pillars and poles. The train can be seen moving at a very high speed which makes the video more horrific. The passenger in the adjacent compartment can be seen making a video of the thief.

The video has been making rounds on the internet as many users came forward to remark on the scene of the thief getting to deal with instant Karma. One user slyly remarked how this is the new India, where a thief will be caught, as well as will be punished, implying the trend of people taking the law into their own hands.

Another user added to the conversation by imparting his opinion of how if India needs a crime-free society, the society themselves needs to take the initiative and has to decide whether to fear the criminals or rather instill fear into the brains of the criminals.

A similar incident had taken place in Bihar’s Begusarai where, similarly, a thief tried to snatch the phone of a passenger from a moving train, however, to his surprise, the thief was not able to pull off the bold theft as the passenger managed to save his phone while also grabbing on to his one arm and pulling him along the moving train.

Another passenger also followed suit and clutched onto the thief’s second arm which led to the passenger holding him along the train window for 10 kilometers. The man in the video can be seen pleading and imploring to be left as he continued to say that his hand will be broken or worse, he could die.

The passengers didn’t stop and continued to make him subjected to the frightful train journey where he was dangling from the train’s window. Subsequently, after reaching the next stop, the thief was handed over to the Railway police.

A video has emerged out of Bihar’s Patna where the police can be seen counting the bullet shells fired during illegal sand mining. According to reports, the police received information about an exchange of firing in Bihta’s district’s Maner. The reports also suggest that the exchange of fire led to four deaths, along with four deaths, and nine more people got injured in the shootout.

In the video, the Patna police can be seen counting the bullet shells which were left as evidence from the sight of the crime. The police can be seen counting up the bullet shells while putting them in a plastic bag. When the reporter asked the police how many bullet shells are there, the police replied with a guesstimate of around a thousand rounds being fired.

The ASP of Danapur Police, in his statement to the media, said that an FIR is being registered in connection with the illegal sand mining shootout. The police added that they arrived at the scene of the crime when they received the information of rounds being fired.

The incident transpired against the backdrop of Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, and Deputy Chief Minister, Tejashvi Yadav, facilitating and addressing an investor’s meeting in Patna. The meet was participated by approximately a hundred investors from different sectors and lines of business.

The Bihar Chief Minister, in his address, tried to assure and gain the confidence of the investors by mentioning the prolonged law and order situation the state of Bihar has been facing. The chief minister, while assuring about the law and order situation in Bihar, stated that the police and the administration have been instructed to be on high alert.

The CM added that if anyone were to face any problems, they should immediately inform the DM and SP about the situation and entrust them to find the solution. He also added that if anyone is subjected to harassment and trouble caused by miscreants, the police will immediately take stern actions.

The CM informed that recruitments have been carried out to make the police force stronger and added that the government is aiming to industrialize the state since business and trade have spread further in the state of Bihar.
