TVF Pitchers actor Abhay Mahajan is all set to entertain audiences in his latest web series, Oops! Ab Kya?, an Indian adaptation of the popular American series Jane the Virgin. Directed by Prem Mistry and Debatma Manda, the show is scheduled to premiere on February 20, 2025, exclusively on JioHotstar.
The series brings together an ensemble cast, featuring Aashim Gulati, Shweta Basu Prasad, Sonali Kulkarni, Jaaved Jaaferi, and Apara Mehta in key roles.
A ‘romantic cop’ with emotional depth
Abhay Mahajan will be seen playing a cop, but unlike the typical tough and rigid law enforcement characters often seen in Indian series, his role has a vulnerable and romantic side. Talking about his character, Mahajan shared,
“I will be seen as a cop, but he’s not just any cop—he’s a romantic cop. There’s an emotional depth to him, which makes the character unique.”
He also spoke about the audience’s initial doubts about the adaptation, stating,
“When I told people that we were remaking this show, they were excited but also a bit doubtful about how much better we could make it.”
However, he reassured that the series is layered and full of engaging elements, comparing it to pav bhaji in terms of variety and appeal.
