Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed the annual NCC PM rally at the Cariappa Parade Ground in New Delhi and released a commemorative specially minted Rs 75 coin denomination.

The Rs 75 crore has been released to mark the 75th successful year of the National Cadet Corps. PM Modi also released a special Day Cover at the event.

The NCC rally will also include a cultural programme on the theme Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. Reports said around 196 officers and cadets from 19 foreign countries have been invited to participate in the event in the true spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.

Earlier, PM Modi released a commemorative coin of Rs 75 to mark the 75th anniversary of the Food and Agriculture Organisation. The coin was released as an ode to the relations between India and the United Nations agency.

For those unversed, the commemorative coins cannot be issued in general circulation, however, citizens can get them if they want. These coins are released to celebrate special occasions in India and can be issued as a mark of respect for prominent individuals and monuments.

India’s first modern commemorative coin was issued in 1964 that depicted the first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru to mark his birth anniversary. Indian mints including Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Noida have released commemorative coins and these can be issued for general circulation in specially marketed packages.

The lower denomination coins are for general circulation and their metal composition is in line with the regular coins. While the higher denominations are composed of silver and are used for collection purposes only.

To get commemorative coins, people can visit the website of IG Mint Mumbai, IG Mint Hyderabad, and IG Mint Kolkata and place an order. The payment for these coins can be done either by Demand Draft in favour of INDIA GOVERNMENT MINT (UNIT OF SPMCIL) COLLECTION A/C or by Debit/Credit Card (VISA and MasterCard).

Yogi Adityanath says Muslims are safe if Hindus are safe, claims communal harmony in Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath claims communal peace in the state since 2017, says Muslims are safe if Hindus are safe, while attacking Congress over Ayodhya and religious issues.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asserted that communal harmony has prevailed in the state under the BJP government, claiming that “Muslims are safe if Hindus are safe”. In an interview with a media agency, the Chief Minister said no communal riots have occurred in the state since 2017 when the BJP came to power.

Emphasising mutual safety and religious coexistence

Highlighting the notion of religious tolerance among Hindus, Yogi Adityanath remarked that a Muslim family can live securely among 100 Hindu families and practice their faith freely. However, he questioned whether the reverse would be equally safe in Muslim-majority areas, citing examples from neighbouring countries such as Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.

“In Uttar Pradesh, Muslims are the safest. If Hindus are safe, then they are also safe,” he stated, recalling that earlier riots impacted both communities. He added, “After 2017, the riots stopped.”

Sanatan Dharma and historical perspective

Yogi Adityanath, who is also the Mahant of Gorakhnath Temple, described Sanatan Dharma as the world’s oldest religion. He said Hindu rulers in history never imposed their beliefs on others, and followers of Sanatan Dharma have never converted others by force.

“There is no example in the world where Hindu rulers used their power to dominate others,” he claimed.

Criticism of Rahul Gandhi and Congress policies

Taking a sharp dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Yogi Adityanath referred to him as a “specimen”, stating that such figures benefit the BJP politically. He criticised Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, calling it a “Bharat Todo Abhiyan”, and alleged that the Congress party had prolonged the Ayodhya dispute deliberately.

He further questioned why the Congress failed to abolish triple talaq or promote cultural events like Kumbh with pride, and why it couldn’t deliver world-class infrastructure.

Remarks on disputed religious sites and legal battles

On matters concerning disputed religious sites, such as the Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal and the Mathura mosque, Adityanath said the state government is abiding by court rulings. However, he also hinted that the situation could have escalated if not for legal restraints.

“Scientific evidence is there, and as more comes forward, we will revive temples. We will show the world where they are,” he said.

He also cited Islamic teachings, questioning the legitimacy of religious structures allegedly built upon demolished temples, adding, “Islam says such places are not accepted by God. Then why were they built?”

Chris Woakes trolls Babar Azam, ignites fab five vs fab four debate

England’s Chris Woakes took a playful jab at Babar Azam with a ‘King Babar’ comment on social media, amusing fans and reigniting the Fab Five debate.

The Fab Four versus Fab Five debate just got a fresh spark, and this time it wasn’t even about Babar Azam — until England’s Chris Woakes brought him into the conversation out of nowhere.

South African all-rounder Wiaan Mulder, recently signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for the IPL 2025 season, shared a promotional post related to a vehicle in association with his domestic side, the Lions. Surprisingly, Chris Woakes dropped a comment saying “King Babar” under the post, despite no mention or connection to the Pakistani batter.

The unexpected remark drew sharp reactions online, with some fans taking offense and flooding the comment section with abuse. While many saw it as harmless banter — possibly an inside dressing-room joke from Woakes and Mulder’s time as SA20 teammates — the internet’s reaction was anything but mild.

The reference could also be linked to a heated on-field incident between Babar Azam and Wiaan Mulder during the second Test between Pakistan and South Africa at Newlands. During that game, Mulder bowled a delivery that Babar defended. The ball rolled back to the bowler, who hurled it back with force, prompting Babar to confront him. The duo exchanged words before being separated by teammates and umpires.

Babar had responded on the field by scoring a gritty 81 and building a crucial 205-run stand with Shan Masood. However, despite his efforts, South Africa clinched the match with a 10-wicket victory.

While the “Fab Four” of Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, Kane Williamson, and Joe Root are widely celebrated as modern greats, many Pakistani fans have long pushed for expanding the elite club into a “Fab Five” to include Babar Azam. Woakes’ light troll has added a humorous layer to this ongoing debate. However, Babar Azam continues to divide opinion when it comes to the ‘Fab Five’ club.

Currently, Babar Azam is gearing up for Pakistan’s ODI series against New Zealand starting March 29. After a disappointing Champions Trophy 2025 campaign and subsequent exclusion from the T20I squad, the upcoming ODIs could prove critical for Babar, both in terms of form and position in the national side.
