Kalashtami, which falls on the eighth day of the waning moon, is considered an auspicious day for Kalabhairav worshippers. On this day, Hindu devotees pay homage to Lord Bhairav and fast for the entire day.
According to the Hindu calendar, Kalashtami fast is observed on the Ashtami date of the Krishna Paksha of every month. On this day Kaal Bhairav, the fifth incarnation of Lord Shiva, is worshipped. It is believed that by worshiping Lord Bhairav on this day, one gets freedom from all kinds of fear, sorrow, and poverty. On this day, it is also stated that worshipping Kalabhairav keeps his adversaries and negative energy at bay.

It is said that by worshipping Kaal Bhairav on this day, a devotee is freed from diseases, the fear of the unknown, and the worry of dying too soon. As a result, only the most auspicious times should be used for worship.

Ashtami end time: April 24, 4:29 am
This time Tripushkar Yoga and Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga are being formed on the day of the Kalashtami fast. Worshiping at such an auspicious time boosts the results. Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga will be held from 06:54 p.m. on April 23rd to 05:47 a.m. on April 24th.
Tripushkar Yoga will be held at the same time, from 05:48 a.m. on April 23 until 06:27 a.m. on April 24. As a result, worshippers can worship at any time between the morning and the evening of April 23rd. From 11:54 a.m. to 12:46 p.m., Abhijit Muhurta will be held.
Kalashtami 2022: Rituals
Kalashtami is a special day for Lord Shiva devotees. Lord Kala Bhairav is known to be the fearful manifestation of Lord Shiva.
Lord Kala Bhairav, Lord Shiva, and Goddess Parvati are all worshipped by devotees. They also perform the Kalabhairav Katha after puja.
The first thing devotees do in the morning is take the bath to perform special pujas and rituals for their ancestors.
The followers stay up all night telling stories about Lord Kala Bhairav and Lord Shiva, as well as chanting Bhairav mantras.
At midnight, Arti is performed using traditional musical instruments such as drums, bells, and conches.
On Kalabhairav Jayanti, some devotees also fast during the day.
Dogs are also fed with milk and sweets on this day as Lord Kala Bhairav rides on a dog.
