On the occasion of Rang Panchami, Abir-Gulal is thrown into the sky. Thus, gulal is offered to the deities on the day of Rang Panchami. The deities are said to be pleased when they see the beauty of the bright gulal, which certainly makes the environment more pleasant. When a gulal is thrown into the sky and falls on people, it destroys the person’s tamasic and rajasic traits, eliminates negativity inside him, and increases sattvik attributes which brings positivity into one’s life.
