The sacred month of Ramadan, also known as Ramzan has started and Muslims across the world are observing fast. Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is regarded as the holiest month of the year by Muslims. During this month, Muslims observe the Roza fast and exchange Ramadan Mubarak and Ramadan Kareem greetings. Before the sun rises, people who are fasting are not permitted to eat or drink anything.

Before sunrise, people have their first meal, known as sehri, and then break their fast in the evening. The meal eaten in the evening is known as Iftar. The sehri and iftar can only be consumed at specific times.

Good Friday is observed on Friday preceding Easter Sunday. It is primarily commemorated to honour the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his subsequent death at Cavalry. Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his wishes on the occasion of Good Friday.

He remembered the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and underscoring lessons of compassion and forgiveness it imparts. He took to X and posted that today, on Good Friday, we remember the profound sacrifice of Jesus Christ. May everyone find lessons of compassion and forgiveness it teaches us.

Union Minister Kiren Rijju also took to X on the occasion and wrote on the auspicious occasion of Good Friday, let’s remember the supreme sacrifice and love that guides us towards compassion, love, forgiveness and unity. May this Good Friday be a time of reflection, renewal, and grace for all.

The observance of Good Friday holds significant importance in the Christian faith, marking the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ at Calvary. It serves as the beginning of Easter weekend, a time of reflection, renewal, and grace for millions around the world.

Google Doodle today features the artistic vision of Iranian guest artist Pendar Yousefi. Yousefi’s creation takes inspiration from childhood memories of Nowruz which evokes joy, togetherness and hope.

Google Doodle on Tuesday took centre stage to honour Nowruz, the Iranian New Year. It is a vibrant festival which is steeped in over 3000 years of history. Google Doodle today features the artistic vision of Iranian guest artist Pendar Yousefi. Yousefi’s creation takes inspiration from childhood memories of Nowruz which evokes joy, togetherness and hope.

These are captured through the animal friends who have gathered together in a flower filled courtyard to ring in the coming in of spring under the blossoming tree. It captures the spirit of Nowruz through vibrant colours and intricate details, an art form which is a rich history in the region that celebrates the festival.

Nowruz literally means new day in Persian. It finds its roots in ancient Iran, then known as Persia. It is aligned with the spring equinox and marks the beginning of the New Year and the blossoming season.
