Chandrashekhar-Jayant Chaudhary under house arrest in Rajasthan: Here’s why Rajasthan Police arrested them at Udaipur airport
Meghwal, a Dalit resident of Barva village of Pali, had kept moustaches after getting a job. He was stabbed to death by two miscreants who allegedly could not tolerate his moustache and his good lifestyle after getting the govt job. The killers had travelled 800 km to kill Meghwal on March 15.

Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Jayant Choudhary and the Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad Ravan have been placed under house arrest by Rajasthan Police at Udaipur airport.
The Police arrested the two leaders at the airport when they were going to meet the family of a Dalit youth, who was killed in Pali on March 15 for keeping moustache. The police have also arrested Bharatpur MLA Subhash Garg.
The police have kept them in the guest house claiming that the leader’s visit may deteriorate the law and order situation in the area because Section 144 is in force in Pali district of Rajasthan.
Jitendrapal Meghwal, a Covid health assistant working in a government hospital in Pali district of Rajasthan, was killed with a knife in public for keeping moustaches.
After the shocking incident, the Meghwal family along with their relatives blocked the dead body and demanded justice. Later, when there was a ruckus and demonstration, the police arrested both the accused.
Once when Jitendra Meghwal was sitting outside his house, there was a dispute with the accused about making eye contact. After that, a case was registered against the accused. The accused were getting angry about this matter. Meghwal comes from a Dalit family background while Rajpurohit, the killer, belongs to the upper class.

The killers had travelled 800 km to kill Meghwal on the afternoon of March 15. The accused fled from the spot after the incident. Following outrage by the Meghwal community over the murder, the police were arrested the two accused from Pachpadra.

Lakshadweep MP Mohammed Faizal’s Lok Sabha membership restored ahead of SC hearing
The notification, issued by the Secretary General of the Lok Sabha Utpal Singh, stated that Faizal’s membership has been restored keeping in view the order passed by the Kerala High Court on January 25.

Ahead of the Supreme Court hearing on the matter of Lakshadweep MP Mohammed Faizal’s disqualification from the Lok Sabha, the LS secretariat issued a notification stating that his membership has been restored.
The notification, issued by the Secretary General of the Lok Sabha Utpal Singh, stated that Faizal’s membership has been restored keeping in view the order passed by the Kerala High Court on January 25.
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader, who was disqualified from the Lok Sabha in an attempt to murder case, appealed to the Supreme Court on March 28 that he has not been reinstated back to the Parliament even though his conviction has been stayed by the Kerala High Court.
The matter was to be heard later today, however, before the hearing Faizal’s membership was restored.
The Kavaratti Session Court convicted the NCP MP and three others to 10 years of imprisonment on January 11, 2023, in an attempt to murder case in connection with the 2009 incident. Following the conviction of a two-time MP from the island, his membership was disqualified and the Election Commission of India announced by-polls.
He was convicted by the Sessions Court under various Sections including 143, 147, 148, 307, 324, 342, 448, 506 and other offenses of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Faizal’s Lok Sabha membership was restored amid Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from the Lok Sabha in 2019 criminal defamation case. The case will come in handy for Rahul Gandhi to restore his Lok Sabha membership that was struck down by the Lok Sabha Secretary General on March 24.

Women Sub-inspector in Haryana caught red-handed taking bribe by vigilance agency, video goes viral | Watch
The video also shows the vigilance team dispersing the crowd assembled around the team after witnessing the unraveling. The officials can also be heard asking the police official who did she take the bribe from after which she can be seen shaking her head.

A video has been going viral on social media where a woman sub-inspector was caught red handed taking a bribe by the vigilance agency. As per the reports, the sub-inspector has been identified as Munnni Devi and it was also reported that a total of 5,000 Rs was recovered from her.
In the video, the sub-inspector can be seen being escorted by the team away from the crowd as they try to question her. After stepping away from the crowd, the sub-inspector can be seen handing over the bribed money over to a member of the vigilance agency. The sub-inspector can be seen in a state of shock and fear.

Another incident
Another incident came to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly where a man was brutally beaten up, man handled by the 112 policemen. As per the reports, the incident between the policemen and the man escalated over some dispute of money.
In the video, the two policemen can be seen manhandling and shoving the man. The video also shows the two policemen picking up the man and slamming him against the bike. The police in the video can be seen unabashedly displaying their unruly behavior while the local residents watch them.
Toward the end of the video, one policeman can be seen slapping the man across his face as the man recollects himself from the assault. The other policeman can be seen trying the pacify the situation as he tries to stop his colleague from hitting him further.

Gangster-politician Atiq Ahmed handed life-sentence in Umesh Pal kidnapping case; brother Khalid Azim acquitted
Gangster-turned politician Atiq Ahmed was pronounced guilty in the 2006 Umesh Pal kidnapping case by an MP-MLA court in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj on Tuesday and handed a life-sentence along with two others, while his brother, Khalid Azim alias Ashraf and six other accused in the case were acquitted.

Gangster-turned politician Atiq Ahmed was pronounced guilty in the 2006 Umesh Pal kidnapping case by an MP-MLA court in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj on Tuesday and handed a life-sentence along with two others, while his brother, Khalid Azim alias Ashraf and six other accused in the case were acquitted.
Special MP-MLA court judge Dinesh Chandra Shukla pronounced the guilty verdict against Atiq Ahmed, Lawyer Saulat Hanif and Dinesh Pasi under section 364-A (kidnapping or abduction in order to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) which carries the death penalty as the maximum sentence.
Justice Shukla sentenced the guilty trio to 14 years life imprisonment in the case.
Earlier, Ahmed, who was brought by a 45-member team of the Uttar Pradesh Police to the special MP-MLA court in Prayagraj today from Gujarat’s Sabarmati Jail, was convicted, along with the other two accused in the kidnapping of BSP MLA Raju Pal murder case prime witness, Umesh Pal in 2006.
Umesh Pal, then a zila panchayat member, had come forward as the prime witness in Raju Pal’s murder, who was killed on January 25, 2005.
Umesh Pal had claimed that Atiq Ahmed and aides kidnapped him at gunpoint on February 28, 2006 after he refused retract his statement given to the police in the BSP leader’s killing. Based on his complaint, the police on July 5, 2007, had lodged an FIR against Ahmed, his brother, and others.
The UP Police had submitted a chargesheet in the matter against 11 accused. One of them later died.

On February 24 last month, Umesh Pal was shot dead along with his two security men in Prayagraj. Atiq and his brother—who were both in jail at the time—are also the accused in the conspiracy to assassinate Umesh Pal.
On Sunday, a 45-member team of the Uttar Pradesh Police arrived at the Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad to escort Atiq Ahmed to UP to produce him before the special court in Prayagraj in the Umesh Pal abduction case.
Earlier today, reports said that ahead of the hearing, security was heightened outside the Prayagraj court and security personnel were also deployed outside the residence of Ahmed as well as that of his advocate as well.
Umesh Pal’s wife Jaya Pal earlier said she won’t attend the hearing but had prayed for Ahmed to be sentenced to death for her husband’s murder.
On Jaya Pal’s complaint, a case a case was lodged at the Dhoomanganj police station in Prayagraj against Ahmed, his brother, his wife Shaista Parveen, two sons, aides Guddu Muslim and Ghulam, and nine others.
A mafia kingpin feared across Uttar Pradesh and former Samajwadi Party MP from Phulpur, Atiq Ahmed was shifted to the Sabarmati Central Jail in Gujarat in June 2019 following a Supreme Court order after he was accused of allegedly orchestrating the kidnapping and assault of real estate businessman Mohit Jaiswal while in prison in the state.
According to the police, Ahmed is named in the Umesh Pal murder case and in over 100 others of criminal nature.
