Hours after the arrest of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case, the party chief Uddhav Thackeray on Monday invoked the viral Jhukega Nahi dialogue from the South Indian blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise.

The former Maharashtra Minister was addressing the media after visiting his close aide Sanjay Raut’s residence in Mumbai’s Bhandup, the residence that was raided by the ED on Sunday in a land scam case.

Comparing the BJP-led Central government to the rule of German dictator Hitler, Thackeray said at one point Hitler seemed to be winning during the Second World War. A cartoonist kept exposing him. Hitler wanted him dead, he said.

The example of the Nazi chief was given by his father, the Hindu Hriday Samrat, Thackeray said.

After searching Raut’s home for several hours in an alleged money laundering case, the ED detained him on Monday and later in the day was sent to 4-days custody.

The issue reached the Parliament on Monday when the Shiv Sena members along with fellow opposition members in both Houses staged protests against the senior politician’s arrest in an alleged money laundering case.

Hours after Raut’s arrest in an alleged money laundering case, Uddhav Thackeray, who shares a close bond with Sanjay Raut, met the family of the arrested Sena leader at his residence in Mumbai’s Bhandup.

The visuals of Thackeray’s interaction with Sanjay Raut’s family members at his home in Bhandup along with party MP Arvind Sawant, MLA Ravindra Waikar and Sena leader Milind Narvekar are doing rounds on social media. The visuals are receiving praise from a section of social media users.
