Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been playing on his own ground in Bihar’s politics since 2005. Sources confirmed that Nitish Kumar was planning to form an alternative government with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress and the Left front. He has sought time to meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

Accusing the BJP of breaking his party, JDU National President Lalan Singh on Monday said that he will expose them at an appropriate time. However, he didn’t mention the name of the BJP.

He made it clear that JDU was not a sinking ship, it was a sailing ship. Some people (without naming RCP sing or BJP) were trying to damage it and took steps to mend it.

After resigning from the party, former president RCP Singh accused the JDU was a sinking ship. The party wrote a letter to Singh demanding details of his properties acquired in the last nine years.

He was allegedly upset with the Bihar BJP leaders about their behaviour and continuous attack on the Bihar government. He has not been attending Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meetings for the last several months. On Monday, he skipped NITI Ayog’s meeting chaired by PM Modi.

JDU president Lalan Singh said that the decision not to join the Union government was taken by CM Nitish Kumar.

Rejecting Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s announcement of a future alliance with Bihar allies, the JDU also denied any alliance with the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and 2025 assembly elections. Amit Shah said that the BJP would contest the future polls with its allies in Bihar. Lalan Singh said that the discussions on it were imaginary.

Lalan Singh said that they will prepare themselves and then they will decide who will be their alliance partners in the elections.

The Juvenile Justice Board in Hyderabad on Friday ruled that four of the five accused minors in the Jubilee Hills gang-rape case of a teenage girl can be tried as adults. Whereas the fifth accused, the son of an AIMIM legislator, might be tried as a juvenile.

The principal magistrate, G Radhika, Juvenile Justice Board cited that she had gathered after talking to the 5 accused CCL, children in conflict with the law, that to her understanding, the accused have a mental and physical understanding of the consequences of the crime.

She further added that the CCLs were not under the influence of drugs or alcohol, which implies that the accused were not in control of their minds to determine right from wrong. Hence, with an understanding of the heaviness of the crime, Radhika believes that the 5 accused should be tried as adults for their crimes.

The Principal Magistrate, while hearing out the case, also disagreed with the aspect of the 5 accused being tempted to commit the crime by the welcoming of the victim or the aspect of the children not having legal education which resulted in them not realizing the consequences of the crime.
