After the meeting in Bengaluru, opposition leaders announced that they would hold their third meeting in Mumbai. The alliance is likely to finalise members of the coordination committee in the Mumbai meeting. Addressing a press conference after the Bengaluru meet, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge revealed the name of opposition alliance INDIA or Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance.
According to reports, the Opposition leaders asserted that an 11-member coordination committee will be formed in an effort to facilitate the alliance’s working. They added that the members of the committee will be decided in the next meeting.
Shiv Sena (UBT) chief and former Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray said that this was their second successful meeting on Tuesday. He added that the country is their family and that they are fighting together to save their family. He further announced that the next meeting of this alliance will be in Mumbai.
Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who also participated in the Bengaluru meeting explained that the fight is not between two political formations but it is to defend the idea of India. He further added that if one sees history, they will find that nobody has been able to fight the idea of India. It is the fight between India and Narendra Modi.
Delhi Chief Minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal claimed that the Opposition parties have joined hands to counter the spread of hatred in the country. He expressed that in the past nine years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi could have done a lot of things but he destroyed all the sectors. He further stated that they have gathered there not for themselves but to save the country from hatred.
Furthermore, Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said the meeting held on Tuesday was fruitful and that construction decisions concerning the alliance will be taken in the days to come. She mentioned that on Tuesday what they discussed, the outcome might be good for the people of the country.
The parties that attended the Opposition meeting in Bengaluru on Tuesday included Congress, RJD, JD(U), AAP, Shiv Sena (UBT), CPI, CPI(M), CPI(ML), NCP (Sharad Pawar), SP, DMK, NC, PDP, JMM and IUML, among others.
