Heavy rainfall has not allowed the black caps to start the first T20 match against India in Wellington. Hardik Pandya, who is heading the Indian team had reached the venue this week and Men In Blue were seen getting comfortable on the pitch.
But seems like they’ll have to wait as the rainfall at Wellington’s Sky Stadium has delayed the toss of the first T20I between India and New Zealand. This is the first international series for both the teams after the T20 World Cup 2022. The series being hosted by New Zealand will have 3 T20 matches first, followed by same number of ODIs.
The Indian team has arrived on this tour without senior players and the T20 team will be led by Hardik Pandya while in ODIs Shikhar Dhawan will captain. This is Hardik and Shikhar’s second foreign tour as a captain. Hardik lead the T20 team against Ireland and Shikhar was the captain of ODI team against West Indies in 2022.
In the IND vs NZ series, senior players like Ashwin, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami are rested and most of the young players will be seen playing for India, so all eyes will be on their performance. However, the biggest question in everyone’s mind regarding IND vs NZ series is that where can they watch the live telecast.
