After crushing defeats in their previous matches in the Indian Premier League 2020, both Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore will lock horn each other at Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. Both teams will come in to the field to secure their spot in the playoffs. Mumbai Indians will once again be without their regular captain Rohit Sharma. Sharma’s absence, Pollard will have to hold the fort for the team.
With 14 points in 11 games, the defending champion Mumbai Indians is leading the IPL 2020 points-table despite their eight-wicket defeat by Rajasthan Royals. Virat Kohli-led RCB is remained on second position with 14 points in the points-table following their loss to Chennai Super Kings on Sunday. A win for either side on Wednesday should be enough to take it to the play-offs.
AB de Villiers has looked good in a few matches for RCB, but their bigger concern will be the form of openers Devdutt Padikkal and Aaron Finch. The form of RCB opener Aaron Finch is also a concern who failed to cross 20 in his last four innings. The team heavily relies on AB de Villiers in the middle order. Mystery spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has been in great form and is also among the top-five wicket-takers in IPL 2020.
Apart from a star-studded batting unit, the Mumbai Indians is loaded with well-rounded bowling attack. Their pacer Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah together have picked up 33 wickets. While, their spinners Rahul Chahar and Krunal Pandya have done well to restrict the flow of runs.
In their last encounter, they met in a super over and RCB emerged as victorious.
