The messaging app WhatsApp has launched the payments service in India in November 2020 for limited users. Now the company has made it available for all the users. Now users can send or receive through WhatsApp.

To use the service, all the users need to update their WhatsApp applications, once your application gets updated with the latest version, you will be able to create your payment ID.

How to activate and use WhatsApp payments?

For IOS users

To enjoy the service, the user needs to click on the setting, then click add a new payment method, the application will ask to fill in their bank details that support UPI, after filling in all the required details, the users will be able to send or receive money to only those who have an active WhatsApp payment mode.

For Android users

Step 1: The user needs to open messaging app. Then, click on the three vertical dots at the top-right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Users need to click on the payments option.

Step 3: After that, the application will ask users to add a payment method option by filling in their bank details.

Step 4: Once the details are filled in, WhatsApp will verify your phone number.

Step 5: Your selected bank will appear on the screen, tap on that. Then, click on done.

How to send money via WhatsApp Payment?

Step 1: Open your WhatsApp application. Then, open the chatbox of the person to whom you want to send money.

Step 2: Click on the attachment button on the chat box.

Step 3: The app will show you the send payments option.

Step 4: Enter the amount which you want to send. Users also can add a note under the payment same as PhonePay.

Step 5: Then click on the send button.

Step 6: Before sending the money, the application will ask you to enter your password to approve the payment. Once the payment is done successfully, Whatsapp will show you a tick just to give you a surety that you have made the payment successfully.
