India will be celebrating its 74th Republic Day on January 26, 2023. The series of events will be organized by the Indian Army as part of the celebration. Republic Day 2023 will showcase the nation’s cultural diversity, the rise of the start-up ecosystem and Digital India.
Egypt president Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi will be the chief guest at Republic Day 2023 celebrations in New Delhi.
From the traditional march past at Kartavya Path, cultural performances by children, tableaux display by States and Central Ministries/ Departments, acrobatic motorcycle rides, a fly past, and Beating the Retreat Ceremony, the nation will also witness various new events.
Drone Show
People will witness the largest drone show in India this year, as 3,500 made-in-India UAVs will light up the evening sky over Raisina Hills. The drones will show national leaders and events in perfect synchronization to highlight the nation’s start-up ecosystem and the youth’s technological prowess. The event will be organized by Botlabs Dynamics.
3D Anamorphic Projection
For the first time, a 3D anamorphic projection will be displayed on the North Block and South Block facades during the Beating the Retreat ceremony.

Military Tattoo and Tribal Dance festival
A Military Tattoo and Tribal Dance festival ‘Aadi Shaurya- Parv Parakram Ka’ was organized at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium on January 23-24 to commemorate the 126th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, also known as Parakram Diwas.
The event will witness 10 Military Tattoo performances and 20 Tribal Dances.
The traditional dance forms to be presented during the main event include Gaddi Nati, Siddi Dhamal, Gaurr Maria, Purulia, Bagurumba, Ghusadi, Balti, Baiga Pardhoni, Lambadi, Paika, Rathwa, Cheraw, Budigali, Songimukhawate, Ka Shad Mastieh, Karma, Mangho, Kummikali, Palaiyar, & Rekham Pada.
Vande Bharatam 2.0
The Vande Bharatam dance was conducted by the Ministry of Culture as a part of RDC 2023. The dancers were chosen from previous competitions held by the seven zonal cultural centres. The panel selected 503 dancers to participate in the major cultural spectacle during the RD parade. The event’s theme is Nari Shakti.
Republic Day Grand Finale
The renowned Bollywood playback singer Kailash Kher will perform during the event’s grand finale.
