A video of the horrific incident which went viral on social media on Monday, shows the man, identified as Udha Ahirwar, a resident of Panchampur village, chained to a tree—hand and feet—as a woman, presumably his wife feeds him food and water.

According to reports, Ahirwar’s son, Shankar Ahirwar, works as a labour in Rajasthan with the prime accused, Zandu Ahirwar’s son-in-law, a resident of Peera village. Shankar reportedly eloped with Zandu’s granddaughter after the couple fell in love.

Sivalingam also tries to attack the teacher with a brick even as the school headmistress, Guruvammal (60), tries to reason with the man while another teacher is heard screaming for help.

A senior police official said the couple and the boy’s grandfather, Munuswamy, have been arrested for the assault, criminal intimidation, conspiracy, and preventing a government employee from discharging duties.

A case has been registered in this regard and further investigation is underway, the official said.

The child’s parents and grandfather have alleged that Bharat thrashed the kid on Monday, however the teacher has denied the charges and instead claimed he had asked the Class 2 student for changing seats as he wasn’t paying attention in the class and fighting with other children.

Bharat claimed that the child fell while changing seats and then went home and complained to his grandfather Munuswamy that the teacher had assaulted him.

Police said the boy’s parents and his grandfather went to the school to seek an explanation where they attacked R Bharat.
