Michael Schumacher: The seven-time F1 world champion, who has been out of the public eye since his 2013 skiing accident

Only a select group of 20 individuals, chosen by the Schumacher family, are permitted access to the racing icon. The family has consistently made decisions that prioritize Schumacher’s protection and privacy, as they have done in the past.

Michael Schumacher, the seven-time Formula One world champion, has largely remained out of the public eye since his skiing accident in December 2013. Following his ordeal, medical staff transitioned him from hospital care to his residence in Switzerland, where he continues to receive ongoing medical treatment.

Recently, RTL reporter Felix Gorner shared an update on Schumacher’s health status. He reported that Schumacher requires comprehensive care from his caregivers and is unable to speak independently. This situation necessitates rigid management of his condition. Only a select group of 20 individuals, chosen by the Schumacher family, are permitted access to the racing icon. The family has consistently made decisions that prioritize Schumacher’s protection and privacy, as they have done in the past.

To aid in his care, a trusted team assists the Schumacher family in providing medical supervision. However, they’ve encountered challenges in keeping his health status confidential. Earlier this year, a former security guard who worked for the Schumacher family attempted to exploit this situation for financial gain.

Markus F., once part of the Schumacher family’s security detail, was convicted for attempting to blackmail the family. He, along with two accomplices, stole 900 photographs, 600 videos, and 900 medical documents and demanded a ransom of £12 million (€15 million), threatening to release the stolen materials online. Authorities intervened to prevent the leak of this personal information, and Markus was found guilty, highlighting the increased risks surrounding Schumacher’s privacy after this incident, especially given that he receives care from external sources.

Jean Todt, a close friend and former Ferrari boss, is among the few authorized visitors allowed to see Schumacher.

In a recent interview, Todt reflected on the significant changes in Schumacher’s life since the accident. He remarked, “His life is different now, and I have the privilege of sharing moments with him. That’s all there is to say. Unfortunately, fate struck him ten years ago. He is no longer the Michael we knew in Formula One.”

Despite the ongoing speculation surrounding his medical condition, Schumacher remains a revered figure in the world of Formula One. His family is committed to safeguarding his dignity and ensuring he receives the highest possible standard of care. This dedication exemplifies their resolve to protect not only his health but also his legacy as an iconic athlete.

Mumbai Indians vs Gujarat Titans: Hardik Pandya’s comeback and Jos Buttler’s role in focus after opening losses

Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians face off in IPL 2025, both looking to bounce back from opening defeats. Hardik Pandya returns to boost MI’s chances.

Hardik Pandya

Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans, both coming from their opening losses, are set to lock horn against each other at Gujarat’s Narendra Modi stadium Stadium on Saturday. The statake of both the teams would be really high as when they took to the field as they aim to avoid a second consecutive loss and stay competitive in the league standings.

Mumbai Indians, despite a fighting debut from Vignesh Puthur, fell short against Chennai Super Kings in their tournament opener. While Gujarat Titans found themselves outplayed, with their bowling exposed by Shreyas Iyer and Shashank Singh. Their batting, though promising in the chase, faltered under pressure at a critical stage.

Adding intrigue to this matchup is the return of Hardik Pandya to the Mumbai Indians playing XI. The former GT captain, who led them to their title triumph in 2022, is back after serving a suspension. His inclusion is expected to bring balance to the side with both bat and ball, potentially replacing Satyanarayana Raju in the XI. Mumbai may also consider rotating their overseas picks, with options open to drop either Ryan Rickelton or Will Jacks to strengthen their bowling attack.

Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, may rethink their middle-order strategy. The exclusion of Glenn Phillips in the first match raised eyebrows, especially with the middle-order failing to capitalize. Phillips could slot in at No. 4, offering explosive batting, a handy bowling option, and exceptional fielding. However, Sherfane Rutherford’s impactful 46(28) might make the selection call a tough one.

A major highlight will be the early contest between Mumbai’s pace spearhead Trent Boult and GT’s top-order trio — Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, and Jos Buttler. GT’s strength lies at the top, and surviving Boult’s opening spell will be critical for their chances.

Both teams have quality in their line-ups but are still searching for rhythm and the right combinations. A win here could spark momentum, while a second loss might push either team into early pressure in a tightly packed table.

Probable Playing Xis:

Mumbai Indians: Rohit Sharma, Ryan Rickelton (wk), Will Jacks, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya (c), Naman Dhir, Mitchell Santner, Deepak Chahar, Trent Boult, Vignesh Puthur

Gujarat Titans: Shubman Gill (c), Sai Sudharsan, Jos Buttler (wk), Glenn Phillips, Shahrukh Khan, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Sai Kishore, Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna

Ahead of Sunday clash, KL Rahul returns as Delhi Capitals eye second win against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025

He noted that losing wickets at strategic moments disrupted their rhythm, emphasizing the need to avoid such pitfalls in the future.

After their encouraging victory over Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi Capitals are set to carry their momentum into a clash against the strong Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, scheduled for March 30, 2025, in Visakhapatnam.

Sunrisers Hyderabad started their season with a bang but faced a setback against LSG, losing the match by five wickets on March 27, 2025. This defeat highlighted vulnerabilities in their high-octane batting order.

As they venture away from home, captain Pat Cummins will need to rally his team for a turnaround performance.

In contrast, Delhi Capitals will be boosted by the return of KL Rahul, who missed the season opener due to becoming a father. Recognized for his crucial role in India’s recent Champions Trophy victory in Dubai, Rahul was acquired by Delhi for a significant Rs 14 crore. Although he brings a wealth of experience, Rahul opted not to captain the side, leaving the leadership to Axar Patel.

Once a mainstay of the Indian team across all formats, Rahul was not part of the T20 World Cup-winning squad last year and had a disappointing IPL season with LSG, which resulted in his release. His previous confrontations with team owner Sanjiv Goenka added to the narrative of his struggles.

Eager for a fresh start at a new franchise, Rahul remarked, “I’ve been out of the T20 team for a while. I know where I stand as a player, and I know what I need to do to get back. This IPL is an opportunity to rediscover my game and push for a return to the T20 squad.”

His recent training sessions with India’s assistant coach Abhishek Nayar in Mumbai have set the stage for his comeback in Visakhapatnam, where he aims to stabilize Delhi’s top order, which faltered in the last match. Chasing a target of 211, Delhi was in dire straits at 65/5 but managed a thrilling last-gasp victory thanks to Ashutosh Sharma’s unbeaten 66 off 31 balls and pivotal contributions from others.

Beyond his batting prowess, Rahul is expected to play a significant role in supporting Patel’s captaincy, especially as Patel leads an IPL team for the first time.

DC has historically struggled to clinch matches, but their hard-won triumph against LSG may instill the confidence needed going forward. The team’s potent bowling lineup, led by Mitchell Starc, will be a critical factor in their upcoming match, especially in countering the aggressive opening pair of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head from SRH.

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a stellar opening match with a score of 286/6, featuring a stunning 106 runs from Ishan Kishan off just 47 balls. However, they faltered in their subsequent match, only managing 190/9 against LSG.

Wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen recognized the need for improvement, stating, “A score of 210-220 would have been par on the wicket. We just didn’t score enough runs.” He noted that losing wickets at strategic moments disrupted their rhythm, emphasizing the need to avoid such pitfalls in the future.

The bowling unit for SRH, spearheaded by Mohammed Shami, Cummins, and Harshal Patel, remains formidable but underperformed against LSG, with Cummins particularly struggling, giving away an average of 15 runs per over. The Australian captain is determined to bounce back and lead effectively.

Teams:

Sunrisers Hyderabad: Pat Cummins (c), Ishan Kishan (wk), Atharva Taide, Abhinav Manohar, Aniket Verma, Sachin Baby, Heinrich Klaasen, Travis Head, Harshal Patel, Kamindu Mendis, Wiaan Mulder, Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Mohammed Shami, Rahul Chahar, Adam Zampa, Simarjeet Singh, Zeeshan Ansari, Jaydev Unadkat, Eshan Malinga.

Delhi Capitals: Axar Patel (c), KL Rahul (wk), Jake Fraser-McGurk, Karun Nair, Faf du Plessis, Donovan Ferreira, Abhishek Porel (wk), Tristan Stubbs (wk), Sameer Rizvi, Ashutosh Sharma, Darshan Nalkande, Vipraj Nigam, Ajay Mandal, Manvanth Kumar, Tripurana Vijay, Madhav Tiwari, Mitchell Starc, T Natarajan, Mohit Sharma, Mukesh Kumar, Dushmantha Chameera, Kuldeep Yadav.
