Hyderabad: Drunk motorist creates nuisance on road, strips to avoid breathalyzer test

A motorist created a ruckus in Hyderabad after he was asked by the cops to undergo a breathalyzer test for drunken driving. The man, in an inebriated condition, not only resisted the move but also stripped off his clothes, allegedly.

As per the reports, the police stopped the motorist at 12 midnight on Saturday at Gandhi Chowk in Malakpet to undergo a breathalyzer test. However, the motorist refused to take the test and started shouting at the police. And when the police told him that he had no choice but to undergo a test, he started taking off his clothes.

The motorist removed all his clothes, and became nude, creating a nuisance on the road. Malakpet Traffic policemen then called his family members to avoid further nuisance.

Speaking about the action taken against him, the Malakat Traffic Police said as he was not giving the test, he was sent away. No case has been registered against him, but the police have seized his bike.

The Karnataka high court dismissed a case on September 6 against a software engineer and his companion in April 2017 after Bengaluru traffic police had accused them of assaulting a police officer and arrested them for drunken driving in the city. This was because the police had not adhered to the established procedures for filing drunken driving cases and obtaining penalties. The judgement was issued on September 6.

Alok Kumar, who was riding a motorcycle, was stopped by the police for a breathalyser test on the evening of April 9, 2017. The police claim that the young man refused to comply and preferred to call his friend Priyamshu Kumar,  a software engineer, who allegedly slapped a policeman.
