Randeep Hooda joins Khalsa Aid group to help flood victims in Haryana

Randeep Hooda has recently teamed up with the Khalsa Aid group to help the flood victims in Haryana. In a new video, he can be seen moving through knee-deep water and distributing ration to the people affected by the floods in the state. The actor shared the video on Tuesday, which showcased his preparations for the relief work. He was shown sitting in his car and putting on a headgear before stepping out and joining the relief efforts. The video captured him walking to houses surrounded by knee-deep water and delivering ration kits.

Randeep also stood near a relief camp, where he handed out cooking oil bottles and packages to the flood-affected victims. His girlfriend, actor Lin Laishram, was also seen in the video, which she shared on her Instagram Stories. Randeep captioned his post as Seva (service) and encouraged others to come forward and lend a helping hand. His fans flooded the comments section with appreciation and love for him.

Some expressed their respect, stating that Randeep is the only person in Bollywood who consistently supports the general public of his country. Another fan wrote about their admiration for Randeep’s compassionate nature. Meanwhile, it has been reported that a total of 73 teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed in flood-affected areas across Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi for rescue and relief operations. These teams are working in coordination with the state administrations and have rescued approximately 1,600 people nationwide, while evacuating 7,241 individuals and 956 livestock to safer locations.

On a separate note, Randeep has recently wrapped up shooting for his upcoming biopic, Swatantra Veer Savarkar. The film revolves around the life of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, also known as Veer Savarkar. Making his directorial debut, Randeep co-wrote the film with Utkarsh Naithani. Produced by Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Randeep Hooda Films in association with Legend Studios and Avak Films, the movie also features Ankita Lokhande.

His clarification came after his name had been circulating in discussions about possible contestants for Bigg Boss 20.

Batwara 1947 has had a disappointing run at the box office, and actor Shabana Azmi has now shared her thoughts on why the film may not have connected with audiences. According to Azmi, one possible reason could be the difficulty some viewers had in accepting Sunny Deol as a Muslim character.

The film, which also features Preity Zinta and Shabana Azmi, was released on August 14. It has reportedly earned around Rs 53 crore so far, while Awarapan 2, which released on the same day, has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark.

Azmi also suggested that there may have been confusion among some viewers about Sunny Deol’s character in Batwara 1947. She said that even some people who had watched the film believed Deol was playing a Pakistani character, whereas, according to her, he plays an Indian Muslim.
