Shah Rukh Khan confirms Dunki’s  release at Jawan event, says film to release on Christmas

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is on cloud nine after the success of Jawan and undoubtedly 2023 is Shah Rukh Khan’s year. The superstar made his comeback after four years with Pathaan in January of this year. The film achieved multiple records, which were eventually broken by SRK himself with his latest movie Jawan. However, there is another surprise in store for fans. The actor will round off the year with the release of Dunki on Christmas.

SRK’s most recent film, Jawan, is a huge box office triumph. The film grossed Rs 700 crores worldwide in less than a week. To commemorate the success of the film, SRK and the entire Jawan team arranged a success meeting. During this event, King Khan confirmed that Dunki would hit the theatre his Christmas.

Addressing the crowd, SRK said he themed his films on national holidays, such as Republic Day with Pathaan and Janmashtami with Jawan. He will now spend Christmas and New Year’s with Dunki.

Dunki has been supported by Jio Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment, and Rajkumar Hirani Films. Rajkumar Hirani’s directorial film, which stars Taapsee Pannu as the female lead. It will also feature Boman Irani in addition to Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee.

Returning to Jawan’s success event, SRK made a grand appearance. He was dressed in a white shirt, a black jacket, and matching pants. His unique hairstyle drew the attention of his fans.

Shah Rukh Khan expressed his excitement at the film’s success, saying, it’s a celebration. The actor said, he rarely gets the opportunity to live with a film for years. Jawan has been in production for four years due to Covid and scheduling restrictions.

King Khan also revealed that there were a lot of individuals involved in this picture, notably those from the South who came and moved to Mumbai and have been living in Mumbai for the last four years and working day and night on this film, which is the most difficult work ever done.

The film was successful at the box office. It is the fastest Hindi film to achieve the Rs 500 crore milestone at the global box office. The film just took four days to reach this milestone.

The film, which also features Preity Zinta and Shabana Azmi, was released on August 14. It has reportedly earned around Rs 53 crore so far, while Awarapan 2, which released on the same day, has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark.
