Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors and new owner of Twitter, is hoping to launch the roll out of Twitter’s subscription service, providing a coveted blue tick at around $8 per month, in less than a month in India.
A social media user, going by the name of Prabhu, tweeted asking Musk about the same, to which the the billionaire responded that the roll-out will hopefully take less than a month.
Musk received a tonne of criticism after he revealed the details of new blue tick feature last week. He faced a lot of outraged, but he didn’t seem to care. In the past, users were not charged anything for the verification.
The blue tick verification has been implemented in the US, Canada, the UK, New Zealand, and Australia. However, as of right present, only users with an iOS device can use the feature.
The most recent update on the Apply store for the website stated that users will be able to have verified profiles with the blue tick, exactly like that of celebrities, companises and politicians they already followed, adding thatm great new features would be adcdded to Twitter Blue, and have more on the way soon.
Additionally, it was stated that verified users would receive a number of perks, including half as many advertisements but with better content. We’re going to reward you with half the advertisements and make them twice as relevant because you’re helping Twitter fight the bots, the statement reads.
The verified or blue tick owners will be able to submit longer videos, and the replies, mentions, and searches for their material will be prioritised. This reduces the visibility of spams, bots and frauds, according to Twitter.
The new Blue isn’t live just yet, and the race to Twitter’s launch continues, but some users may see updates since Twitter is testing and pushing changes in real-time, according to a tweet from Twitter employee Esther Crawford.
The iOS Twitter app similarly lists a blue check for Rs 469 in India. It’s unclear whether the current pricing is accurate or not because the subscription has not yet been implemented in the country.
After the United States (76.9 million) and Japan(58.95 million), India has the third-highest number of Twitter users (23.6 million).
