Pakistan Minister says either Imran Khan or us will get murdered
Pakistan Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Sunday courted controversy with his remarks on former Prime Minister Imran Khan saying that the PTI chief has taken the country’s politics to a point where “he (Imran Khan) will get murdered or us.”

Pakistan Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Sunday courted controversy with his remarks on former Prime Minister Imran Khan saying that the PTI chief has taken the country’s politics to a point where “he (Imran Khan) will get murdered or us.”
Rana Sanaullah, a close aide of former Pakistan premier Nawaz Sharif and a senior leader of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) told private TV channels in an interview on Sunday that Imran Khan has taken Pakistan’s to a point where only one of the two can remain—PTI or PMLN. He claimed that Khan has turned politics into animosity and now he is “our enemy” and will be treated like that.
The senior Minister said that Imran khan has put the entire existence of PMLN in jeopardy and its has come to a point where either “he (Khan) or us” will get murdered, adding that the PMLN will “go to any extent” to settle a score with the ousted Pakistan Prime Minister.
Asked if such remarks could result in anarchy in Pakistan, Sanaullah said that anarchy already prevails in the country.
Sanaullah’s comments triggered outcry among the country’s political circles, especially Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) who have termed it as an open threat to Khan’s life and urged the country’s Supreme Court to take notice.

Responding to the minister’s comments, former federal information minister and PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry termed the remarks as a “direct threat” to Imran Khan’s life from the PMLN-led coalition regime.
Chaudhry asked: “Is Sanaullah running a gang or government? Adding that the Supreme Court had rightly declared Sharifs-led PMLN a Sicilian mafia and Sanaullah’s statement is proof.
Another senior PTI leader Shireen Mazari said the comments are proof of Rana Sanaullah’s murderous intent towards Imran Khan, while urging the judiciary to take note of the threats issued against Khan.
The PTI said it has never witnessed in the past that a ruling party openly declared eliminating a popular leader of Pakistan.
In November last year, Imran Khan, 70, after surviving an assassination bid during a rally in Wazirabad in Pakistan’s Punjab, had named Rana Sanaullah behind the attempt on him.
Khan in his application to the police had also named Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and a senior ISI officer for their alleged role in the bid on his life.
