It is safe to say that Gujarat Titans and some last-minute thrills go hand in hand. The team led by Hardik Pandya has become the first team to have reached the IPL 2022 Finals. Gujarat Titans thrashed Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals with 7 wickets and has sealed the first spot in the finals.

The nail-biting qualifier 1 of IPL 2022 should always be remembered for the right reasons. Gujarat Titans won the toss and elected to bowl first. With the help of Jos Buttler’s 89 and Sanju Samson’s 47 off 26, Rajasthan Royals posted a fighting total of 188/6 on the score board.

But it all went in vain when David Miller’s three back-to-back smashed RR’s dream to enter the finals. Hardik Pandya and David Miller’s unbeaten partnership of 106-runs lead Gujarat Titans into their first year finals of IPL 2022.

Things fell a bit out of hand when Gujarat Titans was struggling at GT to 85/3 in 9.3 overs. Rajasthan Royals did come back in the game and kept it tight until the second-last over where Miller went berserk. The last over needed 16 runs from six balls but that didn’t seem tough for Miller as his was at his best. By killing the entertaining contest in just three balls, David Miller hit three sixes and sealed the game for GT.

The Gujarat Titans skipper, Hardik Pandya was present on the other side, and the cricketer could feel the match coming back into his grip after the three early wickets. David and Hardik complemented each other and timed the ball well.

Gujarat Titans maintained their winning streak and have become the first team to enter the IPL 2022 finals. This is a big achievement for the team as they have sealed their way to the finals in their debut season. However, apart from GT, another team to make it to the IPL finals in their debut season was Rajasthan Royals.

Rajasthan Royals did not only enter the finals but also won the IPL title in their debut season. The team was then led by Late Shane Warne and they lifted the trophy of the inaugural season of Indian Premiere League in 2008.
