Own a Kia Carens? Your car may come under voluntary recall over airbag fault

The leading car manufacturer in India Kia, which has won thousands of hearts with the feature-loaded MPV Carens, now facing faults in the Airbag Control module/unit (ACU). To solve the fault, the firm has launched a campaign under which it has recalled thousands of units to fix the issue.

The company also confirmed that soon it will start reaching out to the customers in order to inform them about the campaign.

The company also released an official statement under which it informed that Kia India has initiated a compaing, where it has recalled 44,174 units of Carens. It said that during this time, all the Carens owners do not have to stress over anything. The company itself will reach out to the respective owner, it will inpsect the Airbag Control Module (ACU) mudule from left, right, and center and if required, a software update will be provided to the customers free of cost.

The company also informed customers that the owners of the affected vehicles will be required to make an appointment with the nearest authorized dealers in order to resolve the fault.

Reacting to the campaign, car makers said that this voluntary recall campaign is being undertaken by Kia India, to inspect any potential error in Airbag Control Module (ACU) software in the Kia Carens. The company will take utmost care to minimise inconvenience to customers throughout the process of this campaign.

However, Kia is not the only firm that has launched a recall campaign over the airbags issues. Earlier, Maruti Suzuki also launched a similar campaign under which the firm recalled 166 units of Dzire Tour S due to a fault in the ACU software. Then they promised to repair it free of cost.

ACU is considered one of the important components when it comes to airbag systems. With the help of inputs sent by the software during any accident or a major crash, it cmmands the car to deploy the airbags on time.

During the launch event of the Tiago EV a few months back, Tata revealed that they will soon be updating the Tigor EV because the car makers have launched the Tiago with so many advanced features which Tigor does not offer, in order to maintain that balance they will give their customers something which will increase customer’s trust towards the company.

Know everything about the upcoming updated version of the Tata Tigor EV

Talking about the big changes, the upcoming EV will come with a new exterior paint scheme. The customers also will witness the list of features including cruise control and good quality leather seat upholstery. The official images which have been shared by the company indicate that new red body colors will be offered alongside the ongoing Daytona Grey and the Teal Blue shades.

In terms of mechanical aspects, the same 26 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack, generating the power of 76 bhp and 170 Nm of peak torque will remain the same. However, there are expectations that the upcoming Tigor EV version is likely to provide a driving range of 306 km on a single charge.

Amid this, the leading car manufacturer in India Tata also has been working on the CNG version of Altroz. If rumors are to be believed, the customers are likely to see the launch of the same around next year. Apart from this, facelifted versions of the Harrier and Safari midsize SUVs are also lineup to be unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo in January.

Maruti Suzuki launches Alto K10 in CNG version, know price and specs details

One of the leading car manufacturers Maruti Suzuki which is better known for providing mileage-friendly vehicles finally launched the much-awaited Alto K10 in CNG version in India. Interested customers now have to pay an extra sum of Rs 90,000 4-seater Hatchback.

The company has introduced the four-wheeler in only VXi variant, It is being sold at the starting price of Rs 5.95 lakh (ex-showroom).

The newly launched Alto’s CNG version features a similar engine as S Presso CNG and Celerio CN. It comes with the 1.0-litre K10C engine, paired it with the 5-speed manual gearboxFea transmission. Talking about the power, the company reported that it will churn out 65hp and 89Nm of torque in petrol. When switched on to CNG mode, it will generate 57hp and 82Nm, which is lessers as compared to the fuel mode.

The company claims that the vehicle will provide a mileage of 33.85km/kg on gas, which is 1.12km/kg higher than the S Presso CNG, but 1.75km/kg lower than the Celerio CNG. The firm also claimed that the vehicle has been designed in such a way that it will provide quality drive, comfort and safety to the customers.

Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 CNG version features, interior and exterior

The company did not change anything when it comes to interior and exterior. The carmakers retained the same design as its ongoing petrol version. However, the boot space has been compromised due to the gas cylinder.

Some of the features also have been carried forward in the CNG version such as a 2-Din SmartPlay audio system with, AUX, USB port and Bluetooth support. It also will have a speed-sensing auto door lock, seat belt reminder, gear shift indicator, and semi-digital infotainment clusters.

As far as the safety features are concerned, it has dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and speed alert.
