India’s one of the iconic cars, which has lost its popularity due to the lack of features and updates in the 90s, Ambassador is now all set to make a big a big comeback in an all-new new avatar very soon in the country. Reports said the Hindustan Motors, which has been sold to the French car manufacturer Peugeot in 2014 due to the huge pile of debt and lack of demand, has collaborated with the company to relaunch the car with an electric version.

While confirming the news, the Director of Hindustan Motors, Uttam Bose on Wednesday said that the team of experts is working on that project. He said soon they will bring out the updated look of the car, which was known as the king of the road back then. He also informed that the company’s joint venture with Peugeot and Citroen will update the car in such a manner that it will definitely give tough competition to the current EVs in the market. Mechanical and design work for the new engine has reached an advanced stage, Bose added.

The reports also revealed that both the company will not only relaunch the 90’s iconic car but it will also introduce a few electric two-wheelers will a lot of updated technology.

Last year, Hindustan Motors closed the main production factory which was located in West Bengal’s Uttarpara. Speaking about the same, a company’s senior official person informed the media that the company ordered to shut the main manufacturing hub of the Ambassador car in order to can design a strategy for the car’s revival plan.

In 1970, Hindustan Motors had a 75% of market share in the automobile industry. The company used to deliver the iconic Ambassador car, which has ruled the country’s auto sector for many years. But, the firm faced a lot of criticism and lost its charm when cheaper more affordable cars like the Maruti 800 started to take over the market.

While giving all the prodution rights to French car manufacturer Peugeot at a deal of Rs 80 crore, Hindustan Motor has stopped all its production operation in 2014.

One of the leading car manufacturers in India Hyundai has finally revealed its feature-loaded Ioniq 5 electric crossover at the inaugural event, which was held at the company’s new corporate headquarter in Gurgaon. The report says that the upcoming EV likely to be hit the market somewhere around at the start of January or at the 2023 Auto Expo.

Ahead of its official launch, the firm will start accepting official bookings of the vehicle on December 20, this year. Interested customers can directly visit the official website of Hyundai and book the EV by giving a booking amount of Rs 25,000.

Know everything about the Hyundai Ioniq 5

Talking about the price segment, the new Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV, which will be sold as a CBU (Completely Built Unit), is anticipated to come under the range between Rs 45 lakh to Rs 60 lakh. For those who are unaware, Hyundai’s upcoming EV is likely to share the platform E-GMP or Electric Global Modula, same as Kia’s newly launched EV6.

As far as the spec is concerned, the Ioniq 5 will come in two sizes – 72.6kWh and 58kWh. The firm claimed that the 72.6kWh battery pack is likely to provide a maximum range of around 470-480kms. The firm also revealed that the EV will support 800V battery technology, which gives ultra-rapid charging. It will also support up to 220kW DC charging, under which the customers will be able to charge the vehicle 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.

As far as the spec is concerned, the Ioniq 5 will come in two sizes – 72.6kWh and 58kWh. The firm claimed that the 72.6kWh battery pack is likely to provide a maximum range of around 470-480kms. The firm also revealed that the EV will support 800V battery technology, which gives ultra-rapid charging. It will also support up to 220kW DC charging, under which the customers will be able to charge the vehicle 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.

Apart from this, reports also suggested that the vehicle will be offered with the with rear-wheel or all-wheel-drive layouts.

Watch out Tata and Hyundai, MG to unveil ZS EV on THIS date

The leading car manufacturer Morris Garage (MG) which has marked the top position in the Indian market in just a few years, credit goes to Hector. Now the firm is all set to drop another bomb on all car enthusiasts. With the growing demand for electric vehicles in the country, the firm will unveil its feature-loaded and updated version of the ZS electric vehicle on December 5. Yes, you read it right.

According to the reports and some official information by the firm, it has revealed that the upcoming MG ZS EV will feature a 50.3 kWh battery pack that will provide slightly more range as compared to the ongoing variant. It has been claimed by the firm that the EV will provide a range of 461 km on a single charge. And, it can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 8.5.

As far as power is concerned, the customers can expect 174bhp and 353Nm of peak torque.

Launched at the starting price of Rs 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the ZS EV then and now holds a special space in the Indian auto market. Amid this, it has been expected that the upcoming mid-size SUV after the launch likely to give tough competition to Hyundai’s feature-loaded Kona which was launched in 2019 at the starting price of Rs. 23.84 Lakh (ex-showroom).

Meanwhile, apart from this, the UK-based car manufacturer also planning to drop the facelift version of MG Astor. Ahead of its official, the patent images have been leaked on all the digital platforms, revealing some of its exterior looks.

According to the leaked images, it can be seen that the upcoming vehicle will come with some noticeable changes. The mid-size SUV will have a completely new front fascia. It also features a new grille and headlamp setup, which is making the vehicle more aggressive and appealing.
