The announcement was made a few hours before the examination was scheduled to begin in 380 exam centers across India, including 26 outside India. The students and parents were disappointed as the cancellation of the examination was made at the last minute.

According to a public notice issued by the National Testing Agency, it is being informed to all the concerned candidates and stakeholders that due to unavoidable reasons, the test papers (Biology – 304, Chemistry -306, General Test – 501, English – 101) which had been scheduled on 15 May 2024 stand postponed for the candidates appearing in centres across Delhi only.

The notice further said that the examination scheduled for May 15 will be held in all other cities across the country, including in Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Noida, Faridabad and abroad. The National Testing Agency claimed that the reason behind this postponement is manpower issues caused due to the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
