Chhaava, the historical action film featuring Vicky Kaushal, continues to thrive at the box office as it enters its second weekend. On Saturday, the film garnered an outstanding ₹44 crore in India and over half a million dollars internationally. This achievement brings Laxman Utekar’s film tantalizingly close to the ₹400 crore milestone. As of day nine, the cumulative box office total stands at ₹393 crore globally.

According to Sacnilk, Chhaava experienced remarkable growth in its domestic net earnings, nearly doubling from ₹23.5 crore on Friday to ₹44 crore on Saturday. This surge has propelled the film’s domestic net collection to ₹286.75 crore (grossing ₹343 crore) in just nine days. Additionally, the film has collected more than $6 million (approximately ₹50 crore) from overseas markets. Reports indicate that the film might have already exceeded the ₹400 crore mark with earnings from the morning shows on Sunday, although final figures will be confirmed later in the day.

Chhaava’s impressive earnings have secured its place among the top-grossing Indian films of all time. Within just nine days, it has surpassed the lifetime collections of major hits such as Fighter (₹344 crore), Singham Again (₹360 crore), and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (₹389 crore). The film has also outperformed Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, a historical film featuring Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan, which earned ₹368 crore in 2020.

Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava tells the story of the Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, with Vicky Kaushal in the lead role. The supporting cast includes Akshaye Khanna as the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, along with Rashmika Mandanna, Divya Dutta, and Diana Penty, who enhance the film’s compelling narrative.

As Chhaava continues its successful run, it exhibits the potential to break further records and strengthen Vicky Kaushal’s status as a leading actor in Indian cinema. The film’s box office success reflects not only strong audience interest but also the appeal of historical narratives in contemporary filmmaking.
