Nawazuddin Siddiqui is making headlines for the last month after his ex-wife Anjana Pandey alleged that the actor kicked out her and their kids from their bungalow. Now, Siddiqui has approached the Bombay High Court and filed a Rs 100 crore defamation case against Pandey and his brother Shamsuddin.
According to livelaw, the case will be heard on March 30 by Justice Riyaz Chagla.
The actor demanded the court to pass an injunction to permanently stop the two from defaming him and stop publishing any defamatory content on their social media and withdraw the defamatory allegations made against him till date.
He also demanded an apology from the duo for defaming him multiple times.
In the plea, Siddiqui said he appointed his younger brother as his manager in 2008 as he was unemployed. The actor gave his credit and debit cards, signed cheques, ATM cards, bank passwords, email addresses, and other credentials to his brother and asked him to handle the work.
The actor further alleged that his brother cheated and defrauded him and brought properties jointly, however, told Siddiqui that those properties were under his name.
Reports further said those bought properties include a flat and a semi-commercial property in Yari Road, a farmhouse in Shahpur, a property in Dubai, and 14 vehicles including BMWs, Ducati, Range Rovers, and others.
The petition further said Siddiqui discontinued Shamsuddin’s service as his manager in 2020 following which he received legal notices from Income Tax, GST, and other government departments for unpaid dues of Rs 37 crores.
He also alleged that Shamsuddin and his former wife started blackmailing him with cheap videos and comments on social media after he was interrogated about his properties. He continued that Pandey used Rs 10 lakh per month he gave for his children’s education and Rs 2.5 crore he gave to start a production house for her personal needs and enjoyment.
Siddiqui further stated that his upcoming films have been postponed due to the defamatory videos and posts made by his former wife and younger brother on social media. He also said he is shy to attend social gatherings and go out in public after the duo shared false videos against him.
