Nora Fatehi files defamation suit against Jacqueline Fernandez, media outlets in Delhi High Court

Actor Nora Fatehi approached a Patiala House Court and filed a criminal suit against fellow Actor Jacqueline Fernandez and various media organizations for defamation on Monday. Fatehi in her defamation suit had alleged that the statement given against her Jacqueline Fernandez in connection with Sukesh Chandrashekhar’s money laundering case was baseless.

The Actor in her suit had alleged that the baseless claims made by fellow actor Jacqueline Fernandez led to media organizations running the same story which led to her image being slandered.

In Fatehi’s plea, the actor claimed that Jacqueline advertently tried to defame him by giving statements against her self-interest as it would damage Fatehi’s career. Fatehi’s plea also cited that since both the actors work in the same industry she deliberately named her in her statement in the case money laundering case of conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar.

Nora Fatehi also alleged that the media organisation collectively hounded her and termed it as mob lynching which was allegedly being done at the behest of Jacqueline Fernandez.

The Actor’s plea comes in the wake of Jacqueline Fernandez’s written pleading before the PMLA court where Fernandez had claimed that she was being falsely implicated by the Enforcement Directorate whereas other celebrities such as Nora Fatehi, who allegedly also received gifts from conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar were not being treated the same way and were being made witnesses.

However, Actor Nora Fatehi disapproved of all allegations and also added that she had no involvement in the matter as she never came in direct contact with Sukesh Chandrashekhar. She did add that she only met him through his wife, Lena Marie Paul and the actor also denied receiving any gifts from conman Sukesh.

Sukesh Chandrashekhar case

A case of extortion and impersonation was registered against Sukesh Chandrashekhar with the special cell and subsequently after he was arrested. According to reports, Chandrashekhar had conned people along with his wife, Leena Maria Paul.

Veteran actor Mushtaq Khan, who appeared in several Hindi films and was particularly remembered for his role in the 2007 comedy Welcome, has died at the age of 56.

Khan was known for playing supporting characters across Hindi cinema and had worked in films spanning several decades. His role as Balu in Welcome remains among his best-known performances.

Mushtaq Khan’s film career

Mushtaq Khan appeared in a wide range of films during his career. His filmography included Aashiqui, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Gopi Kishan, Krantiveer, Raja, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Jodi No. 1 and Hera Pheri.

He also featured in more recent films including Stree 2, Gadar 2, Baby John, Dhoom Dhaam and Jaat. His filmography lists acting work continuing into 2026.

In Welcome, Khan played Balu, a supporting character in the comedy starring Akshay Kumar, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor and other prominent actors.

Khan’s career also included television work, with his credits spanning a wide range of acting roles over the years.

Mushtaq Khan dies at 56

The actor’s death was reported on September 24, 2026. Reports said Khan had been undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with liver cancer and had been hospitalised for around 15 days. Further details surrounding his death were awaited in the initial reports.

Mushtaq Khan was 56. IMDb lists his date of birth as December 31, 1969.

Bollywood stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have welcomed their second child, a baby girl. The couple announced the arrival of their daughter on Instagram on Saturday through a post featuring a baby’s footprint.

The newborn is the couple’s second daughter. Deepika and Ranveer became parents for the first time in September 2024, when they welcomed their daughter Dua.

The couple has not announced the name of their newborn daughter in the post.

Just a day before the announcement, Deepika Padukone visited Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak Temple with Ranveer Singh and his parents.

Deepika was seen wearing an orange and purple kurta set, while Ranveer wore a purple kurta with white trousers. The visit came as the couple awaited the arrival of their second child.

Interestingly, the couple had also visited Siddhivinayak Temple in September 2024, shortly before the birth of their first daughter Dua.
