Siblings Day: From Satte pe Satta to Kapoor and Sons, 5 films to watch on the special day

Sibling love is one of the most dramatic emotions in the world. In one moment, you feel like pouring you heart out and in the next one can’t even pass a glass of water. But no matter how tough a situation gets, having a sibling is like having a shield. Today being the sibling’s day calls for some celebration at least. And what better way to cherish this day than entertainment. Movie are a good way of bonding. Where major movies feature romance as an integral part of their story, there are films, focusing on siblings and their connection. The portrayal of siblings on-screen is a treat for the audience, and it also does wonders at the box office, particularly with a strong storyline.

So, here are five Bollywood films you should watch with your siblings on this special day:

Satte Pe Satta

Satte pe Satta is based on the Hollywood film Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954). The movie stars Amitabh Bachchan (Ravi Anand) and Hema Malini (Indu Anand) and it is about Ravi, the eldest and his brothers. Comic scenes that will make you laugh uncontrollably and drama so intense that will make you emotional is what these seven brothers living under one roof deliver to you. The bond of affection, protection and rivalry with so much more makes this movie a part of this list.
Iqbal

Iqbal is a story of two siblings, one mute and deaf and the other physically able. This story revolves around a brother Iqbal (Shreyas Talpade) and his sister (Shweta Basu Prasad) who promises to help her brother achieve his dream of playing cricket at any cost.
Jane Tu Ya Jane Na

One of the most loved films by every generation, Jane Tu Ya Jane Na, starring debutant Imran Khan and Genelia D’Souza is a cult movie till date because of its relatable projection of emotions and bonds. Fighting each other to protecting and proving solace, this movie hits the right nerves. The confession between Aditi (Genelia) and Amit (Prateek Babbar) makes you want to go and hug your sibling right away.
Dil Dhadakne D

Priyanka Chopra Jonas (Ayesha Mehra) and Ranveer Singh (Kabir Mehra) play siblings in the comedy-drama movie, Dil Dadakne Do. One of the most talked-about movies when it comes to portrayal about siblings. From the beginning of the movie, it’s clear that Ayesha and Kabir have a comfortable relationship with one other. Relation built on modest gestures and the capacity to be absolutely honest without fear of being judged is what makes this story memorable. Dil Dhadakne Do give the dose of family, jealousy, affection and sibling love in the perfect quantity.
Kapoor and Sons

Arguably the one of the most apt films ever made on family drama, Kapoor and Sons features Sidharth Malhotra (Arjun Kapoor) and Fawad Khan (Rahul Khanna) as brothers. The movie starts when both of them return to their parental home to visit their sick grandfather. However, it’s the awkward (on purpose) chemistry between the brothers that works for the movie. This movie shows that even after hundreds of fights, your sibling is the one you will need to share you secrets to.

Dhurandhar review: Ranveer Singh roars back, Akshaye Khanna shines in intense spy thriller

Ranveer Singh returns with a ferocious performance in Dhurandhar, supported by Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, and a gripping espionage storyline set against real historical events.

Dhurandhar review

Ranveer Singh makes a striking return to the big screen with Dhurandhar, delivering a fierce, layered performance in Aditya Dhar’s ambitious spy thriller. Blending historical terror incidents with a fictional revenge saga, the film explores India’s covert response to cross-border terrorism through the secret project ‘Dhurandhar’.

A brutal world built around revenge and espionage

Set around the IC-814 Kandahar hijack and the 2001 Parliament attack, Dhurandhar opens with Ajay Sanyal, an Intelligence Bureau officer played by R Madhavan, who strongly opposes releasing captured terrorists. Despite his resistance, bureaucracy prevails, setting the stage for the covert mission he later leads.

The project introduces its central weapon — Humza Ali Mazari, later revealed to be Jaskirat Singh Rangil — portrayed by Ranveer Singh with ferocity and emotional depth. Dropped straight into Karachi’s dangerous Lyari district, Humza navigates a nexus of gangs, politicians, and the ISI, with the narrative also touching upon tensions between local Pakistanis and Baloch communities.

Performances that elevate the film

Akshaye Khanna nearly steals the spotlight as a feared Lyari gangster inspired by Rehman ‘Dakait’ Baloch. Sanjay Dutt’s portrayal of SP Chaudhry Aslam brings an intimidating presence, while Arjun Rampal’s Major Iqbal leaves a lingering impact despite limited screen time.

Sara Arjun plays Yalina with conviction, and the film also features an unrecognisable Gaurav Gera in a surprise appearance.

Music, violence, and a split narrative

Shashwat Sachdev’s background score stands out, weaving classic Pakistani melodies with Indian retro hits to complement the film’s shifting tones. Viewers should be prepared for intense brutality, graphic torture scenes, and sudden shifts in narrative style — especially in a second half that feels markedly different from the first.

The episodic structure, archival footage, and mix of real and fictional characters add layers, though some may find the format distracting.

Ending that sets up part two

While the film does not end on a dramatic cliffhanger, its teaser for the second part — scheduled for March 19, 2026 — ensures audiences will return to witness the conclusion of Humza’s journey.
