Bhupesh Baghel calls Savarkar ‘a proposer of two-nation theory’

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]When the nation is paying tribute to Veer Savarkar on his 136th birth anniversary, Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel has been heard calling Savarkar ‘a proposer of two-nation theory’.

Speaking to reporters, Baghel said, “Savarkar had put forward the proposal of dividing the country into two parts on religious grounds and Jinnah had implemented it. This is a historical fact and no one can deny it.”

Speaking further about the demand of a Bharat Ratna for Savarkar, Baghel said, “He had fought for the independence of the country and was put in Andaman and Nicobar jail. Not just once but he apologised repeatedly to Britishers and after coming out of jail he stayed away from the fight for the country’s independence. He had thought of two countries, this is also historically true.”

There are so many people for whom Savarkar is a freedom fighter, who sacrificed his life for the betterment of the country on the other hand, some believe that he was not that much patriotic.  ‘Savarkar- a real hero or not’, has always been a topic of debate among the followers of Savarkar and those who criticizes him.

Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was born on May 28, 1883 and breathed his last on February 26 in 1966. During his 83 years, he was involved in the political murder of three British officials. From the nationalist perspective, these murders have been cited as examples of Savarkar’s revolutionary zeal to violently uproot British rule, unmindful of the consequences.

Savarkar was also charge sheeted in the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi but was subsequently exonerated, largely because no corroborative evidence of his involvement was furnished. It has helped perpetuate the myth of Savarkar the brave.

But this myth has been shattered because of the new evidence gathered over the years. He manipulated his followers to assassinate British officials, yet took care to conceal his links to the crimes he conceived. He did not hesitate to betray his acolytes, as he did Nathuram Godse, the man who assassinated Gandhi.

His famed fortitude was rarely on display during his years of imprisonment in the Andamans. He tendered craven apologies to the British, willing to bargain for his own freedom, not the country’s.

Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi paid tribute to Veer Savakrakar. PM took to twitter and said, “Savarkar’s character was full of specialties. He was a devotee of both health (swastha) and (shastra). Savarkar means tej, Savarkar means sacrifice (tyag), Savarkar means dedication (tap), Savarkar means tarangi, Savarkar means til, Savarkar means strength (talwar). Veer Savarkar is remembered for his courage and fight against the British. But apart from this, he was also a great poet and social reformer who always emphasize harmony and unity. He took poetry and revolution together. Apart from being a poet with sensibilities, he was a courageous revolutionary.”

Home Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP president Amit Shah also paid tribute to Savarkar.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

The much-anticipated Bollywood superhero film Krrish 4, starring Hrithik Roshan, has hit another roadblock as director Siddharth Anand and his banner Marflix have exited the project. Reports indicate that the film’s budget, reportedly touching ₹700 crore, has made it difficult for production houses to move forward with the project.

Adding to the uncertainty, Rakesh Roshan, who directed the previous installments of the Krrish franchise, has decided to step away from directing the film, choosing to “pass on the baton” to a new director.

Production struggles continue

Krrish 4 has faced multiple delays over the years, and with the exit of Siddharth Anand, the situation has become even more complicated. Hrithik Roshan, who had wanted Anand to direct, is now left looking for a new team to take the project forward.

Although there are reports suggesting that the film’s ₹700 crore budget is the reason for the hurdles, another source has denied these claims, stating that the “astronomical figures doing the rounds are completely untrue.”

New production plans in motion

While Marflix will no longer be part of the film, FilmKraft, the production house owned by the Roshan family, is reportedly looking for a new studio to back the film. With no director or confirmed production house in place, it remains to be seen how and when the film will move forward.

For now, Krrish 4 remains in limbo, with fans eagerly waiting for an official update on its future.

However, when a social media user suggested that the film should be India’s entry for the Oscars, Ranaut had a bold response, dismissing the Academy Awards as “silly.”

A fan on Twitter wrote, “#EmergencyOnNetflix should go for the Oscars from India. Kangana, what a film.” In response, Ranaut reposted the tweet, stating:

“But America wouldn’t like to acknowledge its real face, how they bully, suppress, and arm-twist developing nations. It’s been exposed in #Emergency. They can keep their silly Oscar. We have National Awards.”

Her remarks come amid growing recognition for the film, which she directed, produced, and starred in.

Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta praises ‘Emergency’

Despite initial skepticism, filmmaker Sanjay Gupta was highly impressed by the film. Sharing his thoughts, he tweeted:

“Today I watched EMERGENCY by @KanganaTeam. Very frankly I wasn’t planning to as I had prejudged it. I am so glad that I was wrong. What a fantastic film by Kangana—both performance & direction. Top Notch & World Class.”

Ranaut acknowledged his praise, calling for the industry to shed its “hate and prejudices” and judge films based on merit rather than preconceived notions.
