Delhi University’s online open book exams commenced on Tuesday, with over 46,000 students taking the exams, according to administrators. The exams went well, they claimed, despite a few technical issues.

According to officials, there was a glitch with the paper code of an English topic, which was resolved, and students taking the exam were given extra time.

The officials said that 100 email submissions were there. Although, the left students have also submitted their answer sheets of their paper on the assigned OBE portal.

Delhi University Dean of the examinations, DS Rawat said that, nearly 46,000 students took the examinations, with just about 100 email submissions, which is a comparatively small number.

The highest number of email submissions received from Rajdhani College, with 63, while the lowest number came from Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, with one.

In Open Book Exam, all candidates are asked to submit the papers one the portals of OBE,  according to the guidelines.

According to the guidelines, there should be no unfair means while writing the exam paper by the students, as there are systems to detect the copying and use of unfair means in the examination.

When Open Book Exam was held in the moth of June then, over350 candidates were caught doing cheat and using unfair modes in the examination to pass the paper. As a result, their exam and whole semester was cancelled.

According to the guidelines, if the registration on the portal is late for more than one hour, students can submit the writings on the OBE portal for an extra hour (the 5th hour), but they must maintain the documentation proofs (4-5 snap shots of the delay in uploading). In other terms, students will have (3 hours to write answers + 1 hour to download question papers and upload scripts + 1 hour to present documentary proof for delayed submission).

The results of the answer sheet, which was submitted by email may get late because of the verification process. Also, because the verification process happened in the month of December, March and June examinations.
