Engineers Day 2021

September 15 is celebrated as Engineer’s Day every year to mark the birth anniversary of one of India’s legendary engineer Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. The date was chosen by the Indian government in 1968.

Engineers are considered as the most versatile in human species. Although engineering is a technical degree but we can find engineers in almost every profession in India and abroad. From civil services to banking, engineers are everywhere.

Engineers have also dominated the entertainment industry as well. Many have even worked as techies before embracing showbiz.

In 3 Idiots, R Madhavan played Farhan Qureshi, a student of Imperial College of Engineering in Delhi, who eventually left engineering to become a photographer. In real-life, along with R Madhavan, these following actors chose to walk a similar path.

Sushant Singh Rajput

Late actor had scored an all India rank 7 in AIEEE exams in 2003. The actor was studying Mechanical Engineering but left it midway to try his hands in acting. He became a household name after featuring a lead role in Pavitra Rishta with Ankita Lokhande and then ventured into Bollywood with his debut film Kai Po Che!

Tapsee pannu

Tapsee Pannu holds a degree in Computer Science Engineering from the Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology in New Delhi. It was her colleagues who encouraged her to pursue the modelling and acting. Today, Taapsee Pannu is one of the finest Bollywood actresses.

Kriti Senon

Before pursuing her career in Bollywood, Kriti Sanon was studying graduation in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology in Delhi. Kriti Sanon had made her Bollywood debut with Heropanti in 2014 and never looked back. Since then, she has worked with stars like Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt and Shah Rukh Khan.

R Madhwan

R Madhavan, who played the role of an engineering student in 3 Idiots, is an engineer in real-life too. The actor has graduated with a engineering degree in electronics.

Pratik Gandhi

Pratik Gandhi is graduated in industrial engineering from Pune University and then worked for a while in Reliance Industries. He hits the bull’s eye with the web series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story.

Sonu Sood

Sonu Sood, who is known for playing the villain in movies like Simmba and Dabangg, holds an engineering degree in electronics from Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering in Nagpur. The actor is being hailed as a true hero during the pandemic after he actively helped migrant workers return to their homes safely.

Jitendra Kumar

Yo Yo Honey Singh’s “Millionaire India Tour” kicks off February 22 in Mumbai and spans ten cities across India. Tickets go on sale today, January 11th, at 2 PM IST exclusively through the Zomato District app. Venues are yet to be announced.

The tour includes shows in:

  • Mumbai: February 22nd
  • Lucknow: February 28th
  • Delhi: March 1st
  • Indore: March 8th
  • Pune: March 14th
  • Ahmedabad: March 15th
  • Bengaluru: March 22nd
  • Chandigarh: March 23rd
  • Jaipur: March 29th
  • Kolkata: April 5th

This tour follows Honey Singh’s recent appearance at AP Dhillon’s Delhi concert and the December 20th Netflix premiere of his documentary, “Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous.” The documentary chronicles his rise to fame and his struggles with mental health.

Tickets for Honey Singh’s concert will be exclusively available on Zomato’s District app, with sales starting at 2 PM on Saturday, January 11. The singer announced the ticket launch with a simple caption: “Tickets going live today, 11th January, 2 PM.”

In his Instagram stories, he shared a reflective message: “Silence is not the end of sound; it is its beginning. It is where life pauses to listen to itself. That’s why I was silent for so many years. Now you will hear me everywhere. Harharmahadev.”

The concert is open to fans aged 16 and older, and it will take place indoors, lasting for four hours. According to Insider.in, Honey Singh will perform some of his greatest hits, including “Brown Rang,” “Dope Shope,” “Lungi Dance,” and “Love Dose,” among others. Ticket prices will be disclosed once sales commence.

Recently, Honey Singh attended singer AP Dhillon’s show in New Delhi last December, where he showcased his signature energy with his latest track, “Millionaire,” featured in the Hindi dub of Suits.

Furthermore, last month, Netflix announced the release of Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous, a docu-film that highlights the life of the Indian hip-hop icon. Directed by Mozez Singh and produced by Sikhya Entertainment, the film premiered on December 20.

Honey Singh rose to fame in India with chart-toppers like “Brown Rang,” “Angrezi Beat,” and “Dope Shope.” However, he faced significant challenges in his career, taking a break from the public eye for a few years, during which he revealed he was struggling with mental health issues.

Actor Malaika Arora’s father dies after jumping off terrace, no suicide note recovered, says Mumbai Police

After receiving this shocking news, the actor’s ex-husband Arbaaz Khan also reached the residence of Malaika’s parents.

Bollywood actor Malaika Arora’s father Anil Arora died by jumping off from the sixth floor of a residential building in Bandra, the Mumbai Police said on Wednesday, adding that no suicide note has been recovered so far from the scene.

According to police, the body has been sent for post-mortem and the case is being investigated.

Raj Tilak Roshan of DCP Zone 9 said, “The body of one Anil Arora was found. He resided on the 6th floor. We are carrying out further investigation and our team is here. We are investigating all angles in detail. Our teams are here, forensic teams are here as well. The body is being taken for postmortem. We are investigating everything in detail. Prima facie it seems to be suicide, we are conducting further investigation.”

Malaika Arora was not at home when her father committed suicide. The actor-model was reportedly in Pune and rushed back to Mumbai soon after learning about the incident. After receiving this shocking news, the actor’s ex-husband Arbaaz Khan also reached the residence of Malaika’s parents.

Malaika’s parents, Anil and Joyce Polycarp, had separated when she was 11 years old. Anil Arora, despite his daughter’s high profile, maintained a low public profile himself.

Malaika Arora, a prominent actress and television personality, has yet to issue a public statement on this tragic event. The family is reportedly in deep shock and mourning as they await further details from the investigation.

Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh blessed with baby girl

Bollywood stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh welcomed their first, baby girl, on Sunday at Mumbai’s HN Reliance Hospital, as per the report. The arrival of the healthy baby marks a significant new chapter in the lives of Deepika and Ranveer Singh.

The couple, accompanied by their family members, were spotted arriving at the hospital on Sunday, with photographers being unable to capture clear pictures as they remained inside their curtained car. Their family members followed suit soon after their arrival.

In preparation for the baby’s arrival, the duo visited the iconic Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai on Friday, seeking blessings from Lord Ganesha ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi. Images and videos of Deepika in a green-colored saree with a baby bump went viral on social media.

The couple announced their pregnancy in February this year through a joint post signifying “September 2024” with adorable motifs of baby clothes, shoes, and balloons. They also shared pictures from their maternity photoshoot, showing a radiant Deepika flaunting her baby bump with Ranveer by her side.

Reports suggest that the couple might embark on this new journey in a new residence. It is rumored that Deepika and Ranveer may move into a luxurious apartment in Bandra, near superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow, Mannat. The apartment will comprise floors 16 to 19 with a private terrace once construction is complete.

Known for keeping their relationship private, Deepika and Ranveer started dating in 2013 on the set of “Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela” and tied the knot at Lake Como, Italy, in 2018, in an intimate ceremony with close friends and family in attendance.

Deepika Padukone’s most recent appearance in the Prabhas-starrer “Kalki 2898 AD” became the biggest blockbuster of 2024. Her upcoming project includes Rohit Shetty’s “Singham Again,” alongside husband Ranveer Singh, scheduled to release on Diwali this year.
