Following Sunday’s IPL 2024 encounter between Mumbai and Chennai at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was delighted to meet MS Dhoni. Bumrah, who recently defeated RCB by taking five wickets, expressed his happiness by uploading a photo of himself with the former CSK skipper.
Shortly after the match, Bumrah entered the CSK dressing room and engaged in conversation with the great Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Since then, the video, which IPL posted on X, has been making the rounds on the Internet.
Sharing the image, Bumrah wrote, met Mahi bhai after so long, felt good to catch up. In the image the two were seen wearing their team’s jerseys while posing for camera.
Soon after Bumrah shared the image, it quickly went viral. A user said, love for the mini-reunion. A second user said two legends in one frame. A third user said want to see playing together. Others also dropped hearts and fire emojis in the comments section.
After hitting 3 sixes and an undefeated 20 off only 4 balls against MI, Dhoni made headlines. The 42-year-old took Hardik Pandya to task after coming out to bat in the final over of CSK’s innings, smacking the bowler for three straight sixes.
In response to Dhoni’s blow, Chennai scored an incredible 206 for 4. Then, after Matheesha Pathirana claimed four wickets, CSK restricted MI to 186 for 6.
Dhoni is without a doubt one of the greatest cricket players of all time, and this is evident in the manner that both current and previous players describe him.
The bowling coach for CSK Eric Simons praised Dhoni after the game for his ability to get off to a fast start.
It was remarkable that he was able to hit the first ball so hard for six and keep going. Throughout the preseason and into the tournament, he has been hitting incredibly effectively in the nets. Simons described it as just another amazing MS Dhoni moment, he said.
Meanwhile, Dhoni became the first Indian player to knock three consecutive sixes in the opening three balls of an IPL innings in addition to reaching 5000 runs for CSK.
