MS Dhoni is the only Indian captain to lift ICC trophies in all three formats

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the only captain to have won all three major ICC trophies. He led the Indian team and scripted history by winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2007 in the inaugural edition in South Africa. Then Dhoni went ahead and lifted the One-day Internationals World Cup after 28 years in 2011 by defeating Sri Lanka by 6-wickets at the Wankhede, Mumbai.

And lastly, nine years ago, MS Dhoni even led the Indian team and won the ICC Champions Trophy 2013. After 2013, India has not won a single ICC trophy.

MS Dhoni is a motorbike fan

Former Indian captain MS Dhoni always had a knack for motorcycles. While some have been won after registering a win at cricket match, rest have been bought by him. Currently, Dhoni owns around 100 motorbikes. The 41 years old has his own personal bike showroom inside his Ranchi home and his collection even includes some limited-edition bikes.

MS Dhoni has the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel

In the Indian Army, Dhoni has the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel. In fact, after India’s defeat at the ICC T20 World Cup 2020, Dhoni was recruited at the Kashmir boarder and he had spent almost a month there. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the second person to be honoured with the honorary title after first World Cup winning captain of India, Kapil Dev.

Former Indian captain MS Dhoni loves to watch and play other games than cricket as well. Prior to cricket, Dhoni was a goalie for his school football team. He even loves to watch WWE. In fact, Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart and Hulk Hogan are two of MSD’s favorite WWE wrestlers.

Even after so many years on his Test retirement, MS Dhoni is still the most successful wicket keeper in the Test cricket. With 294 dismissals including 256 catches and 38 stumpings, he is the most successful glovesman in Test and with 444 dismissals in 350 games, including 321 catches and 123 stumpings, he is the third most successful wicket keeper in ODI.
