Indian skipper Rohit Sharma who had tested positive for covid-19 ahead of the IND VS ENG decider match has finally joined the Indian squad after testing covid negative on Sunday.
The 33 years old Indian cricketer who was one of the highest runs scorers in India tour of England, had to miss the fifth Test match after being infected with Covid-19 virus. Moreover, after this news was out people were also debating over the fact that who would lead Indian side against England.
However, later BCCI announced that after 35 years, an Indian fast bowler would lead team India in Test cricket. Earlier it was the first World Cup winning captain of India, Kapil Dev and now it’s one of the best fast bowlers in the world, Jasprit Bumrah.
And by taking everyone by surprise, Bumrah is coming out to be a hands-on skipper. Currently India is holding a lead in the series by 2-1 and in the fifth match India has given a giant total of 416 for England to chase in the first innings.
After the Test series, India tour of England will be extended by three-match One Day Internationals and three-match T20 Series. Being unable to lead India in the decider match, Rohit Sharma will mark his comeback and lead India in the ODI and T20I.
