India has a chance to win fourth bilateral series against Sri Lanka
So far 6 bilateral series of more than one match have been played between India and Sri Lanka. Out of these India has won 4 and Sri Lanka has won one bilateral series and one was drawn.
Sri Lanka has not been able to beat India lately in a single series. In such a situation, the Asia Cup champion Sri Lanka can make a record of the first T20 series win in India by winning both the remaining matches. Or in other results, India can win 4th series against their neighbours.
Sanju Samson out of IND vs SL T20 series
India’s wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson will not play in the second T20I. Samson was injured while fielding in the first match, after which his leg got swollen. Sanju stayed back in Mumbai to get a scan of the swelling and did not travel to Pune with the team. After the scan report came out, the BCCI medical team advised him not to play the remaining T20 series.
The selection committee dropped him from the series and included Vidarbha’s Jitesh Sharma in the squad. However, Ruturaj Gaikwad can be seen in the playing XI as a replacement for Sanju Samson.
