The visuals of cooked rice placed on the toilet floor at a sports stadium in Saharanpur have gone viral on social media. The visuals have triggered a controversy on social media.

The rice plate on the toilet floor has been served to the girl participant of the 3-day state-level U-17 girls’ Kabaddi tournament in Saharanpur district, a junior player alleged in the video which is doing rounds on social media.

The girls’ Kabbadi tournament had begun on Friday in Saharanpur.

Saharanpur sports officer, Animesh Saxena dismissed the allegation terming it baseless. The food served to players in the stadium is of good quality. Food, including rice, dal and sabji was cooked in large vessels in a traditional brick oven near the swimming pool, he said.

From the vessel, the cooked rice was taken out on a big plate and placed on the toilet floor near its gate. Next to the rice plate, were leftover pooris on paper on the toilet floor. The rice was then served to the players for lunch, a player at the camp claimed.

A few players raised the matter before a stadium official. To this, the sports officer said there was a shortage of space and the food was cooked near the stadium pool.

J P Nadda, the president of the BJP, also gave him a show-cause notice for his contentious remarks.

Bidhuri apologised on Thursday for his offensive comments made about Ali during a meeting of the Lok Sabha Privileges Committee, which heard the two leaders separately.

Earlier in November, opposition MPs had left the Parliament Ethics Committee meeting, including Danish Ali and Mahua Moitra of the TMC, who was expelled from the Lok Sabha due to suspicions of receiving cash-for-query.

On Friday, Mahua Moitra was ejected from the Lok Sabha following a majority vote in favour of the resolution.

The ethics committee chose to hang me without investigating the matter further. It declined to call the businessman to testify, and there is no proof of any money or gifts, she remarked outside the Parliament, to the cheers of the opposition leaders.
