Covid outbreak in China: 3 crore 70 lakh people got infected in 1 day

According to the estimates of the top health authority of the Chinese government, about 37 million people have got infected with Covid-19 in a single day this week. These figures are more than the claims made around the world. At least 248 million people, or about 18% of the population, are likely to have been infected by the virus in the first 20 days of December.

2022 record will be broken

If these figures are correct, it will break the record of infection rate of about 4 million a day in January 2022. The abolition of Beijing’s zero covid policy has led to the unhindered spread of the new Omicron variant of the highly contagious corona in the population. According to the agency’s estimates, more than half of the residents of Sichuan province in China’s southwest and the capital Beijing have been infected. People in China are now using rapid antigen tests to detect the infection.

Corona will be on peak between the end of January

Meanwhile, the government has stopped publishing the daily number of corona infected cases. Based on an analysis of online keyword searches, Chen Qin, chief economist at data consultancy Metro Data Tech, said most cities in China would peak between mid-December and the end of January. Their model shows that millions of people have been infected in the cities of Shenzhen, Shanghai and Chongqing.

There may be complete lockdown in China

It is believed that President Jinping may announce a complete lockdown in China after this meeting. Experts have predicted the infection rate in Beijing to be 50 to 70 percent. In Shanghai, 25 million people are expected to be Covid positive by next week.

Allegation of concealment of data

The Jinping government has also been accused of hiding the figures of Corona. According to the government, only 8 people have died due to Corona in the last one week. According to media reports, on December 20 alone, 36 million cases were reported in China. At the same time, from November 19 to December 18, 11 lakh people have applied online for death certificates in China. 60-60 in Beijing and Shanghai, while 40 new cemeteries are being built in Chengdu.

SkyWest airplane

Seems like aviation atrocities are not going to end anytime soon. Recently, a SkyWest flight got delayed for an hour after a clash broke out between two flight attendants.

Reports said the incident happened on March 12 when the flight was about to take off from Los Angeles to Houston. A video, now-deleted, was shared by a passenger, Ashley Brewer wherein a male flight attendant was seen arguing with his woman colleague after a disagreement.

Reportedly, a woman passenger requested the male flight attendant if she could exchange seats with a person in the economy to sit beside her husband during the journey. The male attendant agreed, however, his colleague refused.

This disagreement triggered the crew members to bicker about the airline’s rules and regulations. Things turned ugly when the female flight attendant decided to leave the aircraft. Further, the gate crew handled the situation and replaced both crew members.

After the incident came to light, the SkyWest flight responded to it and claimed that the airline was not aware of the situation.

The company, in a statement, said it regrets the action of its staff members and also apologised for the inconvenience. It further apologised to the passengers onboard for the delay and informed them that an internal investigation is being conducted in connection to the incident.

A few days back, as many as 30 international passengers flying from Colombo became the victims of a human error at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. Reports said the passengers arrived on a Sri Lankan Airlines flight UL 173 and were dropped off at the domestic arrivals bus gate and entered the domestic baggage claim.

The passengers affected were shifted immediately to the international arrivals area for immigration after the airport staff members were alerted by the authorities. The airport spokesperson called it a human error.
