Kuwait to deport expats who protested against Nupur Sharma’s remarks

The remarks by suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma on Prophet had triggered massive protests in the Gulf countries. Joining the outrage, some people in Kuwait have also protested on Friday against the suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma’s remarks on Prophet Muhammad.

In a statement, Kuwait said it will deport expatriates who were part of the Friday protests against the suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma’s remarks on Prophet Muhammad. The administration has also issued instructions to arrest them.

In a press release, the government said all expats in Kuwait must respect Kuwait laws and not take part in any type of demonstrations.

The authorities are in the process of arresting them and referring them to the deportation centers to send them to their respective countries, the Arab Times report said. The expats will be banned from entering Kuwait again, the report also said.

In response, the BJP has distanced itself from its two leader’s insulting remarks on Prophet Muhammad calling them fringe elements. Later, the BJP has suspended its leaders who have insulted Prophet Muhammad.

Following protests across the country over controversial remarks about Prophet Mohammed by former BJP spokespersons, heavy police deployment continues in the cities of Ranchi, Howrah, Prayagraj and some parts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Protests demanding Nupur Sharma’s arrest have been started on Friday after Juma namaz in several parts of the country.

At least two people have been killed and hundreds arrested after clashes between protestors and the police.

On Sunday, the house of one of the accused in the violence in Prayagraj was demolished by the Uttar Pradesh government for being an illegal construction.

The Bhartiya Janata Party has expelled another leader from Madhya Pradesh in connection with a sexual assault case. Reports said that Jabalpur-based BJP leader Sashikant Soni has been expelled from the party for six years. A few days back, the BJP expelled its two senior leaders in Uttarkhand in connection with a receptionist murder case in Rishikesh.

Sashikant Soni has been booked in Jabalpur for allegedly assaulting a woman who had met him for a job. TT Nagar police station in-charge Chain Singh Raghuwanshi said that the police have registered a case against the BJP leader Sashikant Soni under section 376 of the Indian Panel Code (IPC) on the basis of a 28-year-old woman’s complaint.

The victim said that she had met BJP leader Soni at the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation office regarding a job. The BJP leader was a member of a committee in the corporation.

According to the police complaint, Soni along with the woman drove to Bhopal on March 5 this year and the duo visited many places in the state capital. He had then claimed to the woman that her application was accepted and she would soon get a job. Later in the evening, near the stadium in the TT Nagar area, the BJP leader allegedly sexually assaulted her.

The woman is working as a computer operator and searching for a new job. She went to Jabalpur on May 02, 2022, to search for a job.

She also accused that the BJP leader demanded Rs 1,8000 for the job at his organisation. She further said that he also suggested her to come to Bhopal. He sent a vehicle to her house to receive her. She was with her in his car on May 6 when the incident happened.

The victim said that the BJP leader took her money and forcefully raped her.

Speaking to the media Malini said why her, why not Rakhi Sawant. She said it’s all on God and Lord Krishna will do it. Further, she continued that why not a local should only contest polls and why people want film stars. Tomorrow Rakhi Sawant’s name might also pop up, Hema Malini concluded.

Soon after the video went viral, social media users reacted to her statement. While some slammed her for being a film star and mocking the actors who want to try their luck in politics, others had a good laugh at her sarcastic take on Kangana Ranaut’s entry into politics.

One user called Hema Malini disgusting for degrading another woman. Another user backed Kangana Ranaut and applauded her for sticking by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Others hailed her ‘witty’ response.

The claim was repeated by Republic, ANI, Nai Duniya, Lokmat and several others.

A video of protesters allegedly raising Pakistan Zindabad slogans at the Pune Collectorate office during a PFI protest against the NIA raid at several PFI offices across India is doing rounds on social media.

Taking to Twitter, Zubair dropped a hilarious meme featuring Bollywood superstar Nawazuddin Siddiui into the comment box with the caption Pakkka. The meme is from Nawadzuddin’s cult hit Gangs of Wasseypur in which he can be seen smoking a cigarette in Rajnikant style.

The PFI members were protesting against the PFI members’ arrests and NIA raids at dozens of PFI offices across India over the charges of terrorism and terror funding.

Apart from NIA, ED searches across the country, the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) also conducted raids at 12 locations and detained 20 PFI suspects, including two from Pune.

The Police Investigation and fact-checking of the video is underway. The police have already registered a case against the PFI members for unlawful assembly and they are looking into the slogans matter, said Sagar Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police.

Taking to tweeter, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde condemned the pro-Pakistan slogan and said the police will take appropriate action against them. Such slogans will not be tolerated in the land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, he said in his tweet.
