A day after five of six MLAs of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) in Manipur joined the ruling BJP, the JDU announced a national executive meeting today at the party’s Patna headquarter.
A war of words over each other’s political decimation had been started between the former coalition partners after 5 JDU MLAs jumped ship to the BJP in Manipur.
Desh ka neta kaisa ho, Nitish Kumar jaisa ho was the slogan that rent the air and summed up the sentiment at the JD(U)’s Bihar headquarter ahead of the party’s crucial meeting, which will be held weeks after the JDU broke its alliance with the BJP in Bihar, for the second time in 9 years.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) had won six seats in the assembly elections held in March this year. The party had fielded its candidate on 38 assembly seats.
Kh Joykishan, N Sanate, Md Achab Uddin, former DGP L M Khaute and Thangjam Arunkumar are the five MLAs who joined the BJP in Manipur. Mohammed Nasir, who was elected from the Lilong constituency, are the only legislator who did not join the BJP.
